It is not a wig. It is a hat with a lining that fits close to your head. No, it would be way to big for a 4 year old.

Q: Can you remove the crown?

Actually, you CAN remove the crown. I just got this fir a Valentine’s video and removed the crown with no problem. It has 3 spots of supportive thread that do not disrupt the design of the main piece. This is going to be awesome for my debut tomorrow. My girlfriend loves it already.

Q: What is the small pocket for? I see no way to secure the wig to the head, and the small pocket is empty.

I do t recall having a black pocket in the one I purchased. It is great quality and I had no issues it falling off my head. Received several compliments!
