Overlord, Vol. 3 - light novel

Good Book

My kiddo loves this series. The book came fast and he was happy.

The previous volumes had their own merits with exposition and world building, however, Volume 3 takes everything done right previously and takes it up a notch. At this point this is the most violent entry in the series, expect no less but discover a plethora of ways to kill a man.

I love the pacing, the detailed descriptions and the character development for this story is absolutely incredible in my opinion

I'm a fan of the series. I picked up the light novels for a few reasons. One, my wife can't criticize what she can't see. Two, being an older reader, I grew up on BBS systems online before the internet was big and played things called MUDs which were text based online RPGs. So growing up, I had a big impression on dungeons and dragons and things like that. This series, for various reasons, is nostalgic to me. Seeing the character go from the real world to the other and taking on his character, I suppose we all wish that when we watch our heroes I guess. But reading the light novels vs watching the anime is so much more immersive and first person. I know they're not top shelf reading material or anything. But, like playing your favorite game over and over there is something comfortable and soothing reading this particular series. Like a warm blanket and having your favorite drink. Like the never ending story kid who was reading the book and became part of the story. Something along those lines I would guess. Anyways, worth the time. And always good to support these types of venue by purchasing rather than pirating.

I'm currently in the middle of reading volume 2, but I already know the book's content will be great. It's how I received the book that's gotten me ticked off a bit. I bought the book new but the cover has a slight rip and has been crinkled. Other than that, it was a quick delivery as promised and every other part of the book seems like it's in good condition.

This is a recommended read if you want better detail than what you get from the anime. Part of the anime season 1 ending is on vol. 4 light novel, so if you want all the fine details of anime s1, you have to read that one as well.

This covers the last arc from season 1 of overlord, and is brilliant.. As someone who has watched the anime first and then started reading, i would highly recommend the novels since the details are astounding (a lot has been skipped in the anime, including some interesting characters)

I’ll read all of them in no time, it’s a fascinating story with a well expressed writing , I’m eager to know what will happen next

Arrived next-day and in great condition; same as you would find in Minotaur (i.e. Some signs of touching/slight damage on outer, paper protective/art cover - not as absolutely pristine as straight-out-of-the-plastic, but more than acceptable)
