EOTech Waterproof Mini Red Dot Sight, 3.5 MOA dot MRD-000-A1
I purchased this sight for a S&W M52 38 Target pistol because it could be slide mounted, was light and wouldn't cause me to fiddle with loads to compensate for its weight. I had to send it back for repair (failure to hold zero) after about one evening and 150 rounds of target load 38 special wad cutters. It did work great for one 60 round match. The unit has a "Doctor" mount and you will have to search for a conversion base to use in a dovetail or on a Picatinny rail. Instructions say don't over tighten the battery compartment screws, but you have to crank down on them pretty good or the unit loses power periodically. The o-ring appears to apply the spring force, not a spring clip, for the battery. It's very easy to lose sight of the dot on a pistol, not the sights fault, but consider that if you''re thinking of using this on a pistol. The sight appears to be a backup device for the ACOG series and not a primary sight.I was surprised by the failure. I spent the bucks assuming it would be very reliable, able to take occasional accidental knocks (this sight was not abused in any way and my 38 target pistol was not heavy duty use) and this early failure was a surprise. The click graduations for windage and elevation are excellent. You can feel them, they're positive and predictable (when they are working). This is advertised as an EOTech brand sight, but is boxed as Insight brand. It looks like the same outfit produces both, I assume (there is that word again) that they are identically produced. Very difficult to screw this thing down completely on its base. Had this sight not failed, I would be a serious supporter. Now, even if/when repaired I 'm not sure I can trust it for matches. It's too expensive for practice or for a backup pistol. I surely hope our service men are having better luck.

The sighting directions could have been written a little better but the end result is very satisfying
I've put a couple hundred rounds on it and it holding zero... The sighting directions could have been written a little better but the end result is very satisfying. I zeroed it at home with a laser bore-sight and it was dead on when I took it to the range... I have it mounted on a Glock 34 MOS... The power button is a little hard to get to with the rear sight on, but the dot is so deadly I'll be taking off the rear sight anyway.

There is a reason why you don't see anybody talking about it
I had high hopes with this optic when I first ordered it. After all this has the Insight/EOTech brand on it. Doing research on it, it seemed to have everything I wanted in a MRD with a optional shroud for added protection. Win right? Nope. The one thing that struck me as odd is the lack of reviews and information about it online. Something that I disregarded.Came in a box and the battery didn't work (or so I thought) so I got a new battery, popped it in and it worked,,,for a few days. Set it aside waiting for my mount to arriveMount arrives and I bring it out. turns on and I set it down,,,and it turns off. Try it again and it does the same thing. Thinking I don't have the battery seated, I take it out and reseat the battery. Turns out the sight is sensitive to even the most minute contact,Look at the warranty and it turns out that the sight was out of warranty before I even got it and to fix it would be out of my pocketLet it be a lesson to me and others, if you see a something that asks a lot of money and has been on the market for several years, chances are there is a reason it never caught on

EoTech MRDS/Mini red dot sight.
I have this on my 5'56 rifle at a 45 degree angle for close combat. It's very easy to use and has dif brightness settings. This is a have to have item for all 223/5'56 rifles. It is also great for 3 gun competitions . Def worth the price.

Don't doubt eotech on CS
I own this exact unit in FDE I run it on Gen 3 G19 I didn't purchase mine off Amazon but decided to write this review because of the below poor review another user wrote for one thing he states bought it out of warranty when the warranty on these units is limited lifetime warranty eotech and insight have top notch customer service quick turn around secondly I've abused mine beyond the scope of the normal user I rack my gun using the optic and leave it on 24/7 and have yet to change the battery it's been submerged in water mud exposed and abused still runs the auto brightness rocks even with powerful flashlights lowlight settings I never use the high setting but it's nice knowing I can my only con is if you wish to mill the slide and co witness this with your irons buy a RMR triji because the power button is mounted on the rear and its almost impossible to activate it with the rear sight blocking the button otherwise this is a rugged reliable optic with great customer support I own shoot anything from .22 to .50 bmg and own aimpoints eotechs Trijicon nightforce Leupold all of it I highly recommend this optic for someone wanting to mount it without milling the handgun and for rifle use its awesomeUpdate after much abuse I finally killed mine lol I contacted L3 they had me mail it off and within a week I received a new one no questions asked and they didn't require a receipt that's good customer service so that guy saying I bought it out of warranty is just trolling
