Makes a nice gift
These are some of my favorite pliers - long reach, small point, but high leverage because the jaws are so short. Still made in the United States of America with super high quality, at an unbelievably competitive price. These make great gifts!

Best needle nose pliers ever made
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This is the only pair of needle nose pliers anyone should own. They are incredible.

Rough machining and nose end was grinded a little too much on one side.
Most people would rate a tool down for those reasons. I won't.For me, even with some imperfections, I don't see the tool as less functional. I noticed that the nose was grinded down a bit more on one side than the other. Additionally, there was a ton of metal shaving "crud" in the jaws of the pliers. The crud will clean off over time, and even faster if I were to put a nylon brush to work. The overall tool works and functions well. The rivet is smooth as butter straight out of the packaging. I imagine 2 weeks of constant use and the duckbills will be broken in and smoother.Channellock needs to have better quality control. I could easily send this back to them and they would likely honor the warranty as it fills the whole "workmanship" clause pretty well. But I decided to keep it. Nothing is perfect in life, and tools are meant to be used. I'm not buying a piece of Japanese pottery - I'm buying a tool that I intend to use.

Excellent
One of the handiest pliers in my toolbox. My go to for griping, removing or installing brake springs on most applications.

not true duckbill pliers. klein is my preference but only available used, a collectors item. true duckbill pliers flare wider at the tip, like a duck.

General review of 7 Channellock pliers
I just purchased seven pliers from Channellock primarily for electrical work on my home and electronic tinkering in my workshop. I haven't purchased high quality plier sets since the early 1990's when I purchased a few from the Crescent Co...Like a lot of other folks, I've purchased import pliers out of urgency for a particular use, and they were marginally "ok," but I got tired of trying to cut wires and moving the cutter around on the wire to find a remaining sharp spot to actually sever the wire with. The imports seem to be made of a softer steel which in my experience, doesn't stay sharp long. When I recently cut the cord off a broken appliance, I pulled and tugged, but the diagonal cutters (import) just wouldn't cut anymore. When I looked at the blade area with a magnifier, I found out why...the cutting area was very poorly machined, formed and dull. I never cut hardened materials or abuse my tools in any way so I think the import brand I bought were just crappy. When my Channellock pliers arrived, (long reach, diagonal cutters, long nose, flat nose, end cuts, snipe nose and 7 1/2" side cuts) I got just what I expected, made in the U.S.A. quality! There's no question Channellock uses high quality tool steel for their products and checking them out with a magnifier showed a very precise milling of the cutters. I like them a lot. After checking these pliers out, and seeing the quality, I'm going to order a small pair of Channellock linesman pliers and the smaller pair of diagonal cutters. 5 stars.
