High quality matress that makes hospital beds comfortable instead of terrible
Very supportive and so enviable that other care facility residents asked where to get one!

High quality mattress
Great mattress, worth the money. My elderly mom in a hospital bed finds it very comfortable. Also, it is truly waterproof and easy to clean. It's made of quality materials so I expect it to last.

Softform Premier Mattress
Mattress is comfortable once fully inflated and easy to clean. This style should reduce pressure injury as indicated in literature. However, the mattress took 3 days for the foam to inflate to 6 inches, especially on the side sections. Manufacturers information on the box indicated only 2 hours. The manufacturers information also indicated it should not be rolled for more than 14 weeks. The date of manufacture was March 2024 so it may have been rolled and sealed in plastic over a year ago.

1 month in and a HUGE Difference/Relief for Mom
The learning curve on taking care of my bedbound parent has been steep, but we all know that pressure wounds, a.k.a. bedsores are one of the most consistent challenges we caregivers face. Which is why I am hitting myself over the head that this wasn’t one of the first things I bought when the hospital bed was delivered to the house. For a parent that spends between 75 to 90% of their day in bed, I wish that chucking the standard foam/hard plastic mattress cover would have been more obvious to me. Ironically, we have been hyper vigilant about preventing bedsores, including various positioning, pillows, wedges, silicone foam bandages as cushions over areas like the tailbone, etc. But we never researched upgrading the mattress. When it finally clicked that we should look at a different mattress I spent a lot of time researching. I wanted to find something that would significantly reduce bedsore risk, provide better support for the neck and back areas and also stay much cooler than the default foam plastic mattress. I also didn’t want to break the bank. I finally settled on this mattress, mostly based on the customer reviews, and me pretending to understand how the dual foam and interlocking/individually cut pieces of foam work together to achieve all of the things that I wanted in a mattress. I also liked that the mattress cover itself was much softer while maintaining it wetness resisting capacity. And relatively speaking, this seemed like a reasonable price point as we caregivers know that the price tag on medical equipment can’t get out of control pretty fast. While we have only had the mattress in used for a month, I think it is safe to say that the mattress has definitely met all of my expectations. Mom has reported that her neck shoulders and back feel exponentially better, she no longer feels hot during the middle of the night, which means she no longer kicks off her support pillows or blanket, and amazingly, she says that she no longer feels the “pain in her ass” which is the high bedsore risk zone where the tailbone ends right where the skin is the thinnest. All in all I am very happy with the result and would recommend this to those looking for a meaningful upgrade in their hospital bed mattress without having to go ultra premium on the price. Good luck to all you caregivers out there!!

Excellent replacement for a poor quality mattress on a rental hospital bed.
While recovering from a broken leg, my wife has needed to be in a hospital bed, particularly one where her healing leg can remain elevated. Medicare pays for rental of the bed, but the mattress that came with it was pure trash with no support and minimal padding. We opted to buy this mattress so she can be more comfortable for the several weeks to a few months while she will need the bed. The mattress is very comfortable and very supportive. The firmer edges make it easier to put her weight on the edge of the mattress when getting in and out of the bed. She has not had any issue with the firmer edges making the mattress seem too narrow. We have found that the mattress bends well in the middle for raising the head, but the lower portion for raising the foot does not bend down from its own weight. That seems the case even when the mattress is reversed head to foot. It is just a bit too stiff to bend under its own weight. I don't consider that a failing, but a strength; it shows the mattress has substance and body to it. That is needed for the support required. Overall, this was one of the more expensive mattresses I found on Amazon, but I do not regret spending the extra money. It makes her life while recovering much more comfortable.

Gets the job done BUT ..
Needed a new mattress .. not the best , but gets the job done . . Price too high for what it is .. catch this item on sale .. Comfort 7 Thickness 7 Durability 7 ( probably have to be replaced after 18 months, 24 max ) Fit 7 ( single / hospital bed , doesn't quite reach from head of my bed to the foot - short about 6 inches ) .. Overall 6 out of 10 .. Gets the job done BUT price too high for what it is .. ( I put an eggcrate mattress on top to give me more thickness and comfort )

I did an extensive amount of research before choosing this mattress for a medical bed for someone with a spinal injury. I looked at product design, warranties, and reviews in detail before choosing this mattress from Invacare, a US manufacturer of a wide range of medical products. The mattress is firm and supportive because of its unique three-layer and crosscut design and seems extremely well made. Some users may find it slightly firm but if you need firm support for your condition and don't care for an over-soft mattress, this should serve you well. The mattress shipped within five business days and came rolled up. Initially, I was slightly concerned that it might be too thin at 6 inches in depth but the unique construction and layers make it as comfortable as my previous 7 inch much more expensive medical mattress. It comes with an eight-year product warranty and includes a nylon protective cover as well which has a separate one-year warranty. In my research, I found much lower quality, poorer designed mattresses priced lower and higher than what I paid for this top-of-the-line Invacare mattress. For comparable high-quality mattresses, I've also seen prices as high as $1500-plus, so this mattress is excellent value even if it needs replacement before the warranty expires! I've found I'm sleeping extremely well after two weeks of using the mattress so from a comfort and firm support point of view, it is excellent so far. All in all – a terrific purchase and highly recommended.
