Classic. Enough Said.
One of the funniest movies ever made. It’s held up so well over time. If you haven’t watched this lately, do yourself a favor and put it on.

Watched it because Taylor told me to 😆
Let’s be honest—I watched this for two reasons: Taylor Swift told me to, and Travis Kelce is in it (LOL). Classic Sandler chaos, and even though it’s not normally my kind of movie, it had some hilarious moments.

Peak Sandler
Adam Sandler is a force. Love him or hate him, he's created nothing short of an empire of work spanning multiple decades and Happy Gilmore is peak Sandler. It's perplexing why it's so enjoyable. The plot is absurd and the cinematography is basically non-existent. Still, a staple of Adam Sandler's work is its ability to get inside your head as an ear worm. His stuff was a meme before we knew what meme's were. His characters are usually one-dimensional and often stray into his often used vocal cadence that is somewhere between baby talk and awkward teenager - but in that one dimension he always comes out on top somehow making you root for the loser turned hero he so often plays. Happy Gilmore offers perhaps more quotable one liners than any other film and came at just the right time in history to make it something that anyone of a certain age can quote effortlessly. It's not a "good" film, but it is great and is among the best of the SNL derived skit films turned into an absurd movie experience. You'll shake your head and say "this is so dumb... and I love it" - a tried and true strategy at any point in history. Make them love you and they'll always come back for more. Sandler did this with Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison in the 90s and the world has rewarded him for it ever since. Truly a classic comedy film you should watch if for no other reason than to just laugh your butt off.
