Great, easy install with the universal backplate to upgrade my old WiFi thetms

Bought to replace an older Honeywell thermostat we had in our RV. The unit works perfectly and connected to our z-wave hub (Indigo) without a hitch. The connection kit that comes in the box was well though out and made connecting the small wires a breeze. During the installation I had some questions so I called the 800 number in the manual and was pleasantly surprised to find that the person on the other end of line was very helpful and got us up and running in 5 minutes. Long story short, we had to change the type of heating mode to "standard gas". This is done by holding the menu button until the display changes and then find the right menu. I would highly recommend this thermostat.

I used to have a Nest at my previous place, but the “smart” aspect was more annoying than anything. Unpredictable and I ended up always tweaking what it was doing.I wanted to go back to a more “set it and forget it” more traditional thermostat, but still have the ability to integrate with Siri and my home automation. Also, it couldn’t be ugly. This hit all the checkboxes. I have it integrated with zwavejs in Home Assistant and it works just fine. From there I expose to HomeKit and have Siri integration.So why the one start reduction? Simply put, documentation. You have to do a lot of guess work without detailed documentation on various parameters. Many parameters aren’t available in the on screen menu and can only be accessed as zwave params. Definitely not anywhere near as user friendly to set up as a Nest.However, if you want a simple thermostat without the cloud baloney that can still integrate to your local home automation with lots of possibilities for tweaking it just the way you like, this might be for you.

Sealed box, so you would think the product is new. Nope, the only thing that was new were the tamper seals on the box. The thermostat was used, screen scuffed and dirty. Wall anchor bag was torn open..

Easy to install and wire. What was impressive is, to include any device to a Z-Wave network, you have to be close to the hub. This device included quickly far away from the hub at my install location. Very nice. Easy to program, not more complicated than any other thermostat. I did not integrate to Alexa.
