Which way does the tube empty? The opposite side of the drain plug?

I didn’t get to use it.. But I would think it would empty on the side where the drain plug is!! But it comes with a hose that’s long enough to reach to the other side I suppose..

Is it easy to wash your own hair with it?

Honestly, unless you're bending over the inflatable, I would say no. You need a steady water source to rinse the hair. I actually bought an aid for rinsing my hair. It's a bag with a hose attachment that hangs on an IV pole. You put water in the bag and then use the sprayer to rinse the hair. With the inflatable, you have to keep your neck and head in place so the water doesn't spill out. Mind you, I'm in a hospital setting and bed bound. This system works for me because I have help to wash my hair.

Yes, easy to inflate and use. No water supply near bed so I took two empty one gallon jugs, filled one with warm water for wash and rinse, and one on the floor for the drain hose to go into. You may have to lift the basin slightly on one side to drain.

Can you use boiling water?

I was a big fan of this product for this reason. All of the heads used had no problems with having boiling hot water dumped on them. Couldn’t even scream once. Which was totally fine by me! Your Friend, J. Dahmer
