Great little scale
The was perfect for working on a unit about weight and measures with my 5 year old! He understood the concepts right away using the scale. He enjoyed using it and we compared the weight of LOTS of objects. The little buckets lift out easily which was great for comparing liquids. It’s very sturdy and easy to store in its box with other school supplies.

Perfect for preschool
I purchased this to be used in a preschool rainbow rice sensory bin. It works great for that purpose, which is to encourage exploration of weights and measurements. So far it has held up well, although it is not particularly sturdy. The clear cups are prone to misalignment and falling off the groves. Overall, it’s a good value for the price and perfect for preschool.

Perfect For Teachers
I used this for a weight-related activity for my Kindergartners. They loved using this scale! It had no issues with balance and was large enough for items in the buckets to be seen virtually. Well worth the purchase! I plan on buying more when I move back into my classroom!

Great tool for math and science learning!
My 4 and 7 year old kids both love playing with this scale. We got a set of Learning Resources weights (https://www.amazon.com/Hexagram-Weights-Set-LER-4292/dp/B000URFT3G/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=learning+resources+weights&qid=1600224656&sr=8-1) to go with it. Mostly I have let them figure out what they can do with it so far.First, my daughter weighed some of her small toys (Scrubby Pets animals) and used the weights to compare them. Then, they realized that the containers could hold water, so they decided to compare weights for liquids. This was just in our first week of owning the toy. Since we are doing a lot of home learning activities right now, I can see us pulling this out more when my older kid learns about measurement or just for fun as we cycle through our different science tools.Using the weights has been a great way to reinforce addition for my daughter (since to make up the weight for one Scrubby Pet she might have to add 10+10+5+1g) and for my younger child to learn the concepts of more/less or heavier/lighter.If I had one complaint, it is that the buckets on either side of the scale slip off easily and have to be put back on a lot. The plastic on the buckets is not as sturdy as it could be.However, as with all Learning Resources items I've purchased, the design is well thought out and it doesn't have more bells and whistles than needed to convey the main function and concept.

Will work for our needs
I feel like for the price we paid, this was totally worth it. We did have to use the little plastic pieces on it to "calibrate" it - We actually had to move both of ours all the way to the right and at this point it barely makes it even, it seems like it wants to pull to the left, but... I wasn't expecting it to be perfect. This is a plastic balance for young children, if you are expecting it to be something of higher quality I think you are expecting too much. My son needed one for an experiment we are doing for a third grade science project and this will do. Overall, happy with the purchase.

It balances — unlike the other two I bought
This was the third balance I bought. And it works! Very sensitive to small differences in weight — which is good. Nice tabs for “zeroing” the scale. Looks like resilient construction. I’m satisfied.

Good educational toy
Another toy that my son had to have after playing with it at his cousin's house. I had thought about getting him a scale/balance toy but wasn't sure he'd play with it. This is the one I chose after reading all the reviews. He has really enjoyed it, too. The cups sit on the beam well and are easy to place and take off. The drawer is a little bonus as it can store little things to weigh/compare. And there are lids for the cups if you need them. I did not get anything to put in the cups (to balance) as I thought we'd have stuff around the house. And we do, but I wish now I'd gotten some counting bears or something specifically for this as sometimes his choices are less then ideal. It made of a light, hard plastic and probably would not stand up to a huge amount of abuse. But ours has been dropped on hard floors several times in the past year and is not damaged at all. So I would say it is durable if not abused.Edit to add: Two years later and this toy is still intact and has stood up to the wear-and-tear of a couple years play with an active child.

Great resource!
When I was a kid, weighted numbers and a scale helped me love numbers and understand arithmetic. I found this scale for my granddaughter. And, it was everything I hoped it would be. It is very sturdy, colorful and versatile. It comes with two removable lidded 'buckets' for comparing solids and/or liquids. The scale is so sturdy, it should last my granddaughter for years and years, from being a toy to being a tool.
