Shure RPW118 Replacement Cartridge, Housing, and Grille for Wireless Beta 58A Microphones

Item was just as described! I was a little worried after receiving the cartridge due to the fact that I didn't realize that I order the shorter Beta 58A cartridge to replace the longer original version that was on the wireless mic. But I screwed it on and it worked like a charm! All my research prior to installing it said that they were compatible, but I was still on edge. Sound is just as good!

I own the Shure ULXS wireless microphone. It originally had a SM58 cartridge in it. My business is that of a mobile DJ and I had been having feedback issues with the microphone ever since day one. The feedback was not being created because I was using the mic in front and close to the speaker though. In fact, I was behind the speakers when the feedback would occur and the problem was made worse when I recently upgraded my equipment to include the new Electro-Voice ELX112P 12" Live X Two-Way Powered Loudspeaker speakers. There now seemed to be a new acoustic phenomenon occurring behind the speakers that my SM58 just did not like. I do know how to use a microphone properly but the simple fact that the SM58 was less directional allowed it to more easily generate a feedback loop, particularly with the new speakers.I consulted with several people and ultimately learned that a super-cardioid pattern would help diminish or eliminate the feedback I was getting. I ordered the RPW118 and swapped it out with the SM58 cartridge. My feedback issues stopped occurring immediately. All these years I've been struggling to control the feedback and all it took was getting the correct cartridge for my application.I'm happy now and so are my speakers.

I have always loved the sound of the SM58 mics...and the Betas take that great sound and add more clarity and highs and even better feedback resistance! Added this module to my wife's Shure digital wireless mike and saw immediate improvement in overall presence and sound! Worth the upgrade!

For reference, I’m a full time wedding DJ using the Shure SLXD series. Clarity of vocals, less background noise transmission, light weight, and lowering the chance for feedback are all extremely important to me. That said, I upgraded to this from the original SM58 head. This checks all the boxes for me. While the sound quality difference is not extremely noticeable live, it is noticeable in playback of recordings. This head also weighs approx. half of what the original SM58 head does. I love it and will be replacing my other SM58 heads with this!
