Skinerals Self Tanning Mitt Set, 3-Piece Applicator Kit with Exfoliator Glove, Face Pad & Back Tool, Reusable Glove for Streak-Free Tan Application with Mousse or Lotion

First off, I am not sponsored. I looked for a place to review privately but gave up when I couldn't find one.I like being tan. I'm the pale one in a very Mexican/Spaniard family and got teased for it when I was little. And while I love self tan lotions, it's hard to apply then evenly with just your hands and not miss anything of be streaky and spotchy if you aren't careful. I use a different tanning lotion personally, and it works. I'm very happy with it and was just looking for a better and not-super-expensive way to apply it. I was pleasantly surprised when I received these mits and it came with a small bottle of the Skinerals tanning mousse. So I decided to be risky and try both at the same time.Pros: The mitts are incredibly amazing. Everything you'll read in every other review and more. It's gentle and I don't react to it, which is incredible because I react to most synthetic products. I'm special like that. The mitts are a solid 12/10 for me. I used them with my normal product and they performed beautifully. It spreads both mousse and cream in like air and I loved it.Cons: The mousse was a different experience. It doesn't smell bad to me personally, but it was sticky on my legs for almost 14 hours. I applied them at 2000 before bed and at work at 0700, my legs were still grabbing and sticking to my loose fit jeans. It streaked with the mitts, which my other tanner did not do, and left areas splotchy and soaked into my pores like crazy and left little orange dots all over while also turned me into an orange troll doll. Not just that, it comes off with everything. Even days after, spilling water from my water bottle on my legs left a streak where it just came off. It left my sheets orange, although it did come out with just a normal wash. I'm not sure if I got a bad batch or something, but I felt awful about how it turned out. I'm not sure I'd be willing to try it again, which is a shame because I really like the company and the ethics of it. And the mousse seemed to work amazingly with most people, and I'm saddened I'm not one of them.TL,DRAll in all, I am super pleased with the company at large. They produce GREAT products, the mitts were a HECK YES and the free sample of mousse wasn't my thing and that's sad. But even so, it was a gift of generosity from a truly wonderful company. Edit: I ripped off the elastic part and now it is PERFECTTT.Obviously this mitt is far superior if you just glance at the reviews - I just wanted to add one small disgruntlement. I’m large framed but super skinny (5’10, 135-140 lbs chica). But I always had short wide hands. The opening to mitt is very tight. This is both a blessing and a curse. If we could tan ourselves without changing mitt sides that would be a blessing as the mitt wouldn’t budge, but to reach all inches crevices and nooks and crannies I like to frequently change hands. Besides the obvious arms, I get a more even tan on torso back chest tummy sides and legs this way as I’m not favoring my dominant side. So, for my plump hand, it’s hard to slip my hand in and out of. It’s probably not worth detracting a star. I just did it to get attention so people will read this and know about it in case their hands are so morbidly obese they’d never fit it mitt. Lol. Wash your mitt in first rinse off shower. Dirty mitts produce streaks. The long handled device this company also sells to afix this mitt onto is a life saver!!! Also if that’s not your bag, the long mitt-material back and forth back thing is cool too (I have both depending on mood and also use for my thrice daily moisturizing and spf applications on the back). Ahhh independence! Such amazing quality with plastic lining as to not dirty hands (I still use surgical gloves out of habit). The little face one is such a great idea and I use that during my main “tan” and a Duffy foundation makeup brush I dedicated for tanning for touch ups (I utilize those for hands and feet as well as back and front of neck, ears, décolletage, other small bits I may not be thinking of). These people are leaders in tan accoutrement. I am eagerly awaiting my tan product they promised they would send me when I reviewed my first product they sent which was the long handled device to afix the mitt to. I chose the dark tan product. I use these mitts with gels; lotions; mousses; fake bake type sprays. Anything that needs rubbing in. It makes a huge difference. I rub in with mitt in long strokes as opposed to smaller circular motions with hands. Airbrush mists I just mist on sans rubbing but I use them only when crunched for time cuz they get all over my walls, floor (subsequently feet bottoms), and hair. In fact maybe I’ll save them for my back ONLY!!! With this mitt and my other nice products I’m looking like a bronze goddess!!!!! No streaks in site and aside from >10 years ago (unsuccessful attempt), this is my first summer I’ve decided I’m going to be fake tanning! Research and the right tools are key!

Wasn't sure i could adapt to this way of applying tanner. However, it worked good. I used the big mitt so far. Nice and soft.

Ok this is phenomenal!I used to self tan and then swapped to spray tanning, but there’s no where to do that where we’ve moved to so with so much disappointment I set off to self tan again, and as I expected it was horrifying. I was an orange tiger and I had to go out in public like that... which let me know I’ve got to make a change. So folks here it is!!! I didn’t change the self tanner I used I just ordered this glove set. I exfoliated with that glove in the shower and then used the tanning mitt and it is absolutely amazing and so easy!! First since it spreads it so well my tan looked so much more natural since I used less. It just glided over my skin perfectly. 2. I’d heard it’s easier with a mitt, but I thought just in terms of non orange hands, but no it made the entire process less of a hassle. Like when I tell you I literally thought to myself “wow I can see now how girls don’t mind doing it nightly” I literally wouldn’t mind, it was so easy.So if you are at all a real girl like me who can never seem to manage any girly task as perfect as all the other girls, this is your answer.I’ve got to buy one for my mom because I love mine so much she deserves to know this type of ease too!
