Expensive, Flickery and Non-linear Dimming
These are complete rubbish, compared to some better Philips 'DimTone' bulbs that I already have.I wanted something dimmable and dimmer (if you'll pardon the pun) than some other Philips bulbs, to go on the same circuit, so they needed to have a similar colour temperature and 'DimTone' dimming as the existing ones (the colour temperature gets 'warmer' as you dim, like the old fashioned incandescents).Unfortunately though, these are completely rubbish compared to the other bulbs. I tried them on several different types of dimmers: leading edge, trailing edge, smart dimmer with multiple modes and they flicker horribly for a large part of their range on all of them! They also have a non linear dimming response and a shorter life expectancy than my existing bulbs (Philips MasterLED A60 8.5W) which have sadly been discontinued.I can't help feeling that they (Philips) are now deliberately producing cheaper bulbs that don't last as long. Perhaps it's time I gave one of the other brands a try. Shame really as Philips have been my go-to LED bulb manufacturer of choice until now.
