5 STARS - GREAT VALUE
Nice little CD / cassette player / radio for the money. Works perfectly. It's scaled-down width makes it easy to fit a corner on the kitchen counter or some out-of-the-way area.. It does have a little depth though, so check out the dimensions. The "Mega Bass" feature will definitely give your CD a richer sound. A very good product for the price. Some posts and questions about "song repeat" and "CD repeat" features -- It definitely has the repeat features.

Good sound!
This is a great little radio with nice sound and features. I already had one and it picks up a local station that my other radio doesn't. By having a second one, I can listen to my special station as I go about my work in the house and not have to stick in one area. The order arrived quickly and in excellent condition.

Very versatile, yet easily portable.
CD player, tape deck, and radio all built into the device. The auxiliary in also let’s me plug in my phone or record player (with an adapter changing stereo audio component cables to a headphone cable). Good sound and sleek, simple design. It’s small size lets me easily move it to different rooms of the house with little fuss.

This is a great product but....
buy it new. Purchased this refurbished as a Christmas gift and 19 days later it stopped working. I have purchased other refurbish items (different companies) including a laptop computer through Amazon with above expectation results so didn't think twice about doing it again. No only did it fail miserably, but the included warranty letter giving a phone number to contact in case of problem simply refers you to their website to deal with customer service.Received reply email next day asking for purchase place/order # but no acknowledgement that there was anything wrong. Have purchased this product new numerous times and it has always lasted for several years. Sony is a great brand even if it is a little pricey it is well worth it but please purchase it new.

Has AM/FM, CD and cassette
It's difficult to find an electronic device that still accepts, and plays, cassette tapes and this one has cassette, AM//FM, and CD so I am able to play both new and old collections. There was no remote control with this, but none was indicated that it would be. The sound quality has been great so far, although it does get a bit of reverb if turned too loud.I am also just starting to find the same problem that I did with the last "boombox" that I returned--that the CDs either "skip" or won't play at all. It is okay for now, but if it continues, it will need to be replaced and another one tried which is a shame because I really like this unit.

great buy and works Great!
Everything works exactly as it is supposed to, and the audio is great as well. Instruction manual could be a little bit more forthcoming about how the tuner works though.

Mediocre Quality and Confusing Buttons
I bought this to quickly go through some old family cassettes -- no other reason. No one I knew fessed up to owning a cassette player to lend me for a couple of days, so I bought one. Now it's a paperweight. The buttons for the cassette operation are so confusing I put labels on each of the buttons so I knew which direction was Play, Fast Forward and Reverse. Even with that, I always got confused on which side of the tape was A and which was B. Oh yeah... there is no window to view the tape, so you have no idea which way the tape is traveling. The tape is completely hidden behind the front black plastic door. The "MegaBass" switch is a joke. Instead of adding bass sound to the paltry, cheap speakers, it sort of muffles the sound.Yes, the FM does get a few stations and would serve as a way of providing garage music or front porch music, but this thing does not pump out sound very much. Please do not think of this as a boom box.The unit I bought was a refurbished unit. As such, it did not come in a display box -- it was inside a plastic bag surrounded by bubble wrap in a very sturdy shipping box. Arrived and looked new. As far as that goes, I would not spend the extra to buy "new" if you are OK with trusting a refurbished product seller.
