Nice watch!
Love this watch! I now have two...based on some of the questions and reviews some need to understand what a hybrid watch is. It does exactly what I wanted and looks nice instead of a screen on my arm. Also bands are easy to change to dress it up or down.

Not "Q"-uite enough
The Fossil Q is an exceptionally well made timepiece, but it's also big, heavy and may be uncomfortable for some women with smaller frames to comfortably wear. Some of the functions (date) didn't work properly for me and considering its relatively high price point, dependence upon the Fossil Q app to function, and limited functionality, it may or may not be for you.I give it a 4 out of 5 star rating, but with some reservations. Read on to see why if there was a 3.5 star... that would be my choice.-----------------------------------------------------Here's what I liked about the Modern Pursuit Gen 2 Hybrid Fossil Q:☆ It's got an attractive steel blue finish to the case that is complimented by a well matched rubber watch strap. **NOTE it's not as blue as seen on Amazon, more of a dark (almost Navy) strap with the watch bezel being less true blue and more green or dark teal in some light.☆ The watch face is attractive and somewhat understated.☆ Wireless (Bluetooth) syncing allows for sharing of information between the Fossil Q app and the watch.☆ Smartphone notifications (vibrate) to let you know when a call is coming in.☆ There are several different designs of this watch to choose from and watch bands can be swapped out.☆ You can setup a second time zone, alarms and other customizable alerts. The smaller dial on the face of the watch turns to indicate which is occurring.☆ No need to charge the watch. Regular watch battery can easily be replaced with included 'Q' tool about once every 6 months.☆ Water resistant up to 165' depths, but not really for diving? Weird, but alas I'd say it's probably OK to shower and swim with this watch on based upon this information.☆ You can setup a smart button with your phone's camera to use as a remote. It can take single snaps or continuous bursts as setup on your phone. This works over Bluetooth and seems to have a good range (1' to 8' worked for me, but it may be even more than that.)☆ The build quality of the watch is very solid and it should withstand active lifestyle use.☆ Fossil has a video on YouTube about how to setup your watch, which I highly recommend you view instead of using the included instructions. Additionally they have a 'functionality' video (about 40 seconds long) which can show you in a simple way how this watch works prior to your purchase.☆ Once synced with the app and logged into the Fossil Q system, setup was easy.☆ Activity tracking, sleep monitoring, call vibration notification and customizable smart button (I set up mine to use as a remote camera button). Changing button functionality is easily accomplished within the app. You can control your music, set an alarm or use the button to take pictures with your phone's camera.☆ Upon setup the watch automatically synced to the appropriate time via my iPhone 5S running iOS 10.2.1 - auto update feature worked well!☆ The three buttons to the right side of the face (on the side of the watch case) are easy to find and depress.---------------------------------------------------To get started:1. Download the Fossil Q app from the Google Play or Apple Appstore.2. Install on your phone.3. Setup Fossil Q account - it's free.4. Follow further instructions on your phone to sync watch with phone via Bluetooth to control phone via the app.------------------------------------------------------Three buttons:1. Date mode - you depress it and the watch hour hand moves to correspond with the month, and the minute hand moves to correspond with the day. Mine was 5 days ahead... despite syncing...so for me - this function didn't work properly.2. Toggle mode - allows you to quickly change functions setup in the app.3. Q-Link - sets up ONE customizable function, and you must change it within the app. **Would have been nice to have a way to double or triple tap the button to have all three wouldn't it? You can take a photo, control your music or ring your phone with this button, but again, it must be setup to do so in the Fossil Q app on your phone.---------------------Here's what I wish was better about this product and its packaging:➤ The watch uses the Fossil Q app to sync via Bluetooth which is how it becomes a 'smartwatch'. My watch tried unsuccessfully three times to sync (not usually a problem with other devices using this phone). On the 4th try the phone paired with the watch and I could complete setup. I believe that Fossil's app is to blame for the issues I encountered and the poor reviews of the app would also indicate this. Maybe an app update is in order? Anyway, the watch was definitely more frustrating to sync with the app than it should have been!➤ Included directions are in very small print and not particularly clear other than 'get the app'. Bigger, simpler and more user-friendly directions would be helpful.➤ Calibration of the phone via the app was easy once it got started, but there seems to be a very small window between the vibration and when you should release the button to get things going. It took me several tries.➤ Date mode was 5 days fast on my watch after syncing with my phone which is accurate. No way to change it!➤ People with small wrists may find this is way too big to be comfortable. I have the watch band on the last hole and it covers up most of my wrist. Admittedly my wrists are small about 6" around, but it's something some should consider. NOTE: Men's Fossil Q watches have the 24-hour designation in the small dial on the face of the watch, but this women's version does not.➤ The watch is HEAVY! Guys probably wouldn't mind this, and although this is being sold in the women's accessories on Amazon, maybe it's unisex? That would make sense as even with smartwatch capabilities and a rugged design, this is still remarkably weighty and somewhat uncomfortable for me to wear. Especially to bed to track sleep patterns.➤ Activity tracking (step goals) and sleep monitoring functions can be accomplished by many other devices which are smaller, lighter and have better performing apps.➤ If the app isn't working correctly, you have no access to activity data and may lose special functions, making the watch just a watch.➤ Nothing about this watch really sets it apart from the crowd for me, and its limitations make it an expensive accessory with limited functionality.----------------------------------Over time with extended use I may find that I like this one more than I do after two days of use, but for now I'm torn between a 3 (just OK) and 4 star (I like it) review.♦︎I chose the higher star, however that's due more to the fact that the watch is well made and the product does deliver on 95% of its promises out of the box - they are just a bit lackluster for the price. If there was a 3.5 star option I'd choose it.♦︎In considering if this is for you, check out the YouTube videos and consider the other devices you already own. You may duplicate functionality like an activity or sleep tracker with this watch, or prefer a digital display. This hybrid is attractive, but it's not going to be for everyone. If you have comments or questions you think I might be able to answer, please comment below and I'll do my best to get back to you to try to answer them.--------------------------------------

Do not purchase! Caused rash/chemical burn!
Rewriting my previous decent review because after my son wore it in the shower this morning, he took it off and had what looked like chemical burns on his arm. It reminds me of what happened to people with the bad Fitbit bands! Just awful! He'll go have a doctor check it and we'll contact the mfg.

Loved the look of the watch
Loved the look of the watch. Problem was the back wouldn’t come off to put the battery in. Back wasn’t put on correctly. Took it to a jeweler and he wouldn’t touch it in fear of damaging the back. Had to return.

Beautiful watch, but difficult to set up.
Had difficulty setting up to Blackberry Priv and Sony XZ premium. After much persistence, the Sony finally paired and worked!!!ProsBeautiful watch. I have a couple Fossils. The craftsmanship is great!! They have beautiful colours and great price for the value.ConsThe Fossil Q app says you may have to download Android App and others. It automatically said "Device not compatible.'It can only be paired to ONE device at a time. If you want to pair another you have to redo the pairing all over again. There is no real list about compatibility. You just have to test and try.Would definitely purchase more down the road.
