Cold Steel Maasai Spear with Secure-EX Sheath,Multi,Large,CS-95SEE

I've been waiting to see this here and jumped the moment I could! The shoe is the longest of all three parts, roughly 2-3" longer than the blade in sheath. And speaking of the shoe- this is a solid spike, it's not going to just bend if you lean it against a wall. The blade....yep, you can grip that socket like a handle. So if you were thinking this is a back up machete, it is, but blade heavy and way off balance; however, it would do in a pinch. Blade and shoe are both formidable in their right, no question. The handle is dark brown wood (not black like the promo images) and not butter-smooth, which works for me as that gives extra grip on the gloves, otherwise expect to sand it down before use or customization. If you think you want this, you won't be disappointed and you should probably pick one up while you can.

Schnelle lieferung, gutes material, hatte schon zusammen geschraubt und habe dann die spitze ausgepackt. Ich habe einiges von cold steel und war etwas enttaeuscht. Statt massiver spitze, war es stahlblech mit gewalzter hohlkehle. Schade.

It is not bad, but the pointy end on the non blade side is a bit too sharp. It should have been blunted out as the real Maasai spear users stick the spear on the ground and that end is not meant to be used offensively. So having a sharp point on the wrong side is more of a danger to the user.

Very happy. Going to make a sword and spear from it. Dirt cheap for such a great item. Price can only climb in time.

I love the weight of this Spear, it feels light enough to throw accurately, but heavy enough to stop even the largest predator if necessary. When the spike end(shoe) sticks in the ground it does not bend at all, even with the weight of the large blade at the other end. This thing is built tough as nails like most Cold Steel products. Give the screws that lock the steel ends into the handle section a good pilot hole with a drill, otherwise the screws may get stuck half way in. I love this thing, this is my new favorite Spear.
