Where these screws made? Thanks.

Presumably somewhere on the plant earth. If you are buying these for installing draw slides, they work great and do not interfere with the operation of the slide. So, I would continue buying them even if they came from mars. Screws I have found at the local home improvement stores do not work properly with draw slides. If you are buying them for something else, then caring if it is Pennsylvania steel, Indiana steel, or overseas might be a legitimate question. Unfortunately I do not know what city they come from.

Is predrilling required?

Predrilling is not required for most wood applications, but I would recommend it to reduce possibility of splitting. The screw tips are adequately sharp so that installaion without predrilling is possible, at least with a screw gun or drill. Installation with a screw driver, manually, might be more difficult, especially in hardwoods.

can these be used under thin set mortar?

These are wood screws that are not meant to be counter sunk. They are zinc not stainless steel. Not sure why you are covering up wood with thin set. Why not use Hardiboard in place of wood and Hardi screws and then cover in Thinset?

I will be attaching poles to a half-inch thick wooden fence using metal U-brackets. Are these screws suitable?

Screws are probably fine depending on what's attached to those poles. They're indoor cabinet screws though so they will likely rust very quickly and don't have a very large head. If it's treated pine pickets they will corrode into nothing very quickly. Pickets are not structural building materials though. Regardless of what screw you use, they will likely pull out iif those piles have any load. Id probably use a pan head, zinc coated, sheet metal screw. Not these

Broad head screws

Used these to string webbing for patio furniture. Broad heads holds the webbing, so the webbing doesn't pull through. Good price compared to the big box stores

Hold up to impact driver without stripping, don't interfere with drawer slides, great!

After a number of times when a slightly protruding screw head stops a drawer slide in its tracks --- and usually the screw that's the hardest to get to--- using these screws was great. Didn't strip even one with the impact driver while installing 4 sets of slides and didn't have any interference with slide movement. These are definitely worth getting if you reuse drawer slides or buy in bulk and don't get screws with them. Actually, I might throw out the screws that come with the slides in order to use these.

Good screws but short a few in count

Just what I needed for installing drawer slides. I ordered the 500 ct. package BUT I only got 475 screws. Yes, I counted them.

Worked perfectly for my project.

Used these to replace old rattan webbing on my aluminum frame deck chairs with new strap webbing. Screws bit in nicely to the new holes I drilled into the chairs. Perfect length and head size for the job.

Easy to screw in with only a drill

Top notch screws

Many of the small packages of screws you buy at the big box stores are junk; the heads strip and it's a pain trying to back them out once that happens. These screws are great. I used about 80 of them and no stripping even when I run the drill fast and apply pressure; it's also nice to have a slight washer built into the head. I'm using them to secure several drawer slides as the screws that came with the slides are junk.
