GREAT tool. Absolutely fits the cheapo Harbor Freight grinders.
Mine is the black 4.3 amp Drillmaster 4-1/2" angle grinder and I had no trouble attaching this dust shroud. I was actually very impressed with the solid build of this thing despite the low price, and AMAZED by how well it worked. Practically eliminates dust completely. I purchased a different (and much more expensive) shroud previously and returned it immediately because I wasn't able to fasten it solidly to my grinder. No such trouble with this one. A few important observations I made: - "Universal" doesn't mean "no adjustment required." You might have to tinker with it to get everything right, so be patient. These are dangerous, high-speed tools. Take your time. - Don't try to just use the clamp arm to get a tight fit. That will get it snug, but then you have to tighten it fully with a metric socket. Once I did that, the shroud never wobbled once. - Setting the shroud so the bristles just barely extend past the surface of your grinding cup is critical. If your cup extends past the bristles, it will allow the dust to escape. There is some minor up/down adjustment possible with the shroud itself on the grinder's collar, but not much, so the height of the cup you have is important. I see some reviewers using nice DeWalt cups that seemed to be the right height. Me? I had the cheapo HFT Warrior brand and at first it was too tall even with the arbor ring removed (the cup extended beyond the shroud's bristles.) So, what I did was cut about a quarter inch or so off the cup's spindle using the angle grinder and a cutoff wheel (also HFT.) There is some stock beyond the threads, so I cut that part off and was still able to fully thread the cup onto the grinder arbor after the modification. After that, I was able to set the shroud to the correct depth and was off to the races. - Opening the hinged red cover on the front will allow you to get closer to a wall (if you're grinding a floor) but not completely flush. It'll get you maybe a half inch away. I found that having that cover open still didn't allow much dust to escape - definitely some, but nowhere near as much as if the shroud was off. - Go slow, make sure you're keeping the cup flat against your surface, and apply slight pressure to keep the shroud's bristles sealed against the surface. If you're doing this indoors, still staple up plastic sheeting and wear a dust mask, because it isn't 100% dustless, but the difference is night and day. Best tool purchase I've made in a long time!

Great Product
This device saved my lungs when I did a refurbishment on our kitchen, removing the tiles and putting down hardwoods. Using this with the grout sanding disc worked like a charm.

Nice kit. Worked better than expected.
Comes with a collection of collets to match fit your particular grinder. Also came with a wrench for the grinder locknut removal, which was nice since I had lost mine years ago! I used this shroud while grinding linoleum adhesive off concrete as prep for a tile install. Worked great. Dust collection was fantastic. Previously, there was so much dust in the air, I couldn't work for the particulates getting in my eyes and a respirator was absolutely mandatory. After installing this shroud and connecting it to my dust extractor, the dust was almost non-existent. Still wore the respirator to be safe, but i probably didn't need to. My only gripe I have is that the shroud was about an inch larger than my grinder blade, making it impossible to get close in the corners.

An Absolute Necessity for Grinding Concrete!
I bought this to do some concrete grinding to repaint areas of our basement floor where the old floor paint had begun delaminating, likely from poor surface prep by the previous owner. Diamond grinding is the ultimate method of surface prep for any concrete surface you will be applying paint or epoxy to. Unfortunately this dust shield did not fit my old Dewalt angle grinder, so I got one of the cheap harbor freight grinders on sale for ten bucks and this fit perfectly on that grinder using one of the included spacers. I also grabbed one of the cheap knockoff dust deputy cyclonic dust separators and what an absolutely amazing result. Literally ZERO dust. I was still expecting some to get by the shroud, or have the superfines make it through my vacuum filter but so far nothing has. Compared to my old method of grinding and after a minute or two not being able to see one foot in front of my face because of all the dust, then allowing it to settle and then vacuum, this is a cakewalk. I can do it indoors with zero ventilation and cant even get a whiff of that usual concrete dust smell that usually lingers in the air for hours. I am also going to use this to resurface my garage floor and epoxy coat, so we'll see how it holds up after 1000sqft of grinding. I'll update if it fails or the bristles wear out prematurely, but so far I'm happier than a pig in mud.

Good quality, but adapter doesn’t fit.
I bought this for some flagstone grinding I was completing. Did a great job with containing the dust and keeping the area clean. The universal adapter for shop vac hose would not fit my Rigid Brand Shop Vac. Had to just tape around connection to keep it in place. Not ideal, but it worked.

if it works it would be great otherwise it is a great frustration
a lot of issues with this tool that make it completely unusable even though you put a lot of effort and fight to make it work. due to the brushes around the shroud increase the thickness so that grinding wheel sit higher from the ground. depend upon the wheel thickness you need a little shimming if you can find a correct washers for shimming. I went to hardware store and bought a few and non worked so ended up using with no shimming but angle and push down the grinder which requires more effort also some adjustment for yourself to grind correct amount of surface. otherwise it dig in and scrapes much more than you would want. I wish the package includes a few shimming washers since 8-9 out of 10 people would need it with their tools second and biggest annoyance is the vacuum hose fitting. if you don't have the right shopvac with a hose in right diameter this tool is useless. Both of my shopvacs didn't fit to shroud tight and securely not matter what I did, including using some zip ties. as grinding in circular motion hose get lose and disconnected from the shroud and all of the dust goes every where. I wasted a lot of time to get the hose back on and secure but no avail and meanwhile all the concrete dust was all over the place. If I didn't buy and use this shroud I could have goten job done much faster. If you shopvac hose fits secure than this tool get the job done. But vendor does not include any hose fitting adapters which would 't cost more than a few bucks but it is not included in. so if you don't have right shopvac you also need to buy a shopvac. it was very frustrating experience for me.

Buying more soon
Works completely perfect. Strong parts. Clamps tight. Great features. I'll be buying more soon different sized. I chuckled at a few reviews that concerned me (only a little) as I assembled it. I had already bought some washers ahead of time to shim my threaded attachments where they needed to be as I knew ahead of time, that of course things don't just fall into place perfectly when mixing different brands of grinders, attachments, and/or vacuums. I've used a lot of brands and attachments (mixed bag) perfectly with the provided parts, and I have a lot. I just shim with washers or whatever I gotta do, and only to make things real solid. I also taped the vacuum adapter to my hose to ensure it wouldn't fall, but I didn't need to. The hair has to be just even with the grinders attachments surface, and you should use proper bags (fine dust) and filters (fine) and don't let them get to full. Clean your hepa filter with compressed air and throw that bag away when half full. Keep the vac sucking to its full potential. The vacuum draws plenty hard enough through the "hair's" bottom that dust doesn't have a chance to escape, even a little. I'm an idiot for not having these years ago. Not one spec of dust anywhere and I didn't mask anything in an entire living room. I put on my dust mask, and set a shiny laptop on the floor next to where I was working and after 3 hours ran my finger across the top of it to look for a trace of fine rock dust or debris. There was none, I mean zero and I never even expected it to work that great. I'll be purchasing more soon. If your a pro or have common sense, or just somewhat handy and not afraid of making small adjustments, you'll love this thing, just buy the right stuff around the part itself. If your not real... constructive.. I guess you could be left with hurt feelings of not thinking to use washers to adjust attachment depth and a rachet to adjust the guard height (I hardly adjusted anything). It may not be turn key failproof with every brand no matter what, but only because that's impossible for what it is!? It takes like 3 minutes to install all components and to be ready to grind, with everything perfectly aligned and solid, and that's with several different tools and attachments now.

Great Product
Dog shroud fit great on my Makita that I burnt up and purchased this Milwaukee and still fit, I had to supper glue the end in the shroud because the band clamp quit working, but the super glue did the job. My rigid vacuum sucked the dust great, and used 16 gallon bags to help keep my filter cleaner. Did my whole garage with one disc from Amazon, and filled up 4 vacuum cleaner bags with concrete dust! Shroud work excellently and still cheaper than the one sold at Harbor Freight.
