Beautiful wood- very light weight

I bought some other, more expensive spindles and this one is genuinely my favorite. It's got a nice weight that works the fiber without being too heavy to use for longer periods of time, it's nicely balanced so it spins with very little work, has a beautiful finish to the wood that doesn't catch the fiber, the hook has the perfect curve for holding the fiber when spinning, it's great for drop and supported spinning. The only thing I would love with it would be a spinning base for support spinning. I found a small glass bowl that works, but it's not the ideal design to work with this spindle. Other than that, it's perfect and I recommend it for anyone wanting to have a quality spindle for long-term spinning.

This is my fourth spindle. I’m still relatively new, but I have played extensively with a Turkish, top whorl and bottom whorl. The problem was, they were all slightly unbalanced. I never noticed until I got this spindle and fired her up. Hang on to your fiber, she’s a beast! Spins so smoothly it reminds me of a top. This spindle can spin so fast that I was able to make yarn more efficiently and quickly. Plus, she’s just gorgeous to look at. It’s my heaviest spindle by far but I have still been able to spin yarn in between fingering and worsted weight without problems. This is by far my favorite that I have tried and I would highly, highly recommend.

First and foremost this spindle is GORGEOUS and handles beautifully. It spins for ages (That's taken a little getting used to! I can spin almost all the way to the floor on a single flick!) and, though it is is a little heavier than my beginning spindle, I'm spinning very fine, soft, merino-and-silk mix on it just fine at lace weight. It's a joy to use and to look at (even my spouse thinks it's gorgeous!). The downside (and this may have been specific to my spindle, so take with a grain of salt!) is that when I accidentally dropped it about an inch of the tip snapped off. Now, that particular spot had a bit of a burl in it, so, again, it may have just been bad luck for me. However, I'd not recommend this as your first spindle as a result, especially if you're still dropping it a lot (Alas, that was one of only two times I've dropped it!). Even with the tip gone it still spins gorgeously, just won't really work supported now. But who cares! I was spinning with it this morning. I will absolutely buy another sometime soon! Worth the price for sure.

The product was very well packaged. It arrived in a timely manner. I am learning how to spin. It seems to be a very good product.

It’s taking a while to get the hang of it, but this tool is making the process enjoyable.

Great spindle and vendor

The velvet bag came with the spindle popping through a hole from the spindle being aggressively shoved through the bag and the whurl was loose and popped off. Doesn’t look like that was part of the design based on the damage. Disappointing but will still work.
