HARD TO FIND ..... JUST RIGHT!!
Needed something to punch the holes in my very large plastic planters for the driveway and in the beds.... The small nail punches just weren't cutting it..... Tedious and extra work.... This does it in one or two shots and cleanly..... Looked for a long time for something larger and heavier, but right for the job, and this is the ticket.... :)

Nice Little Tool To Have, However...
This item is a must in any shop. My previous one was lost in transport during a move. This one was nice for the price. There is only one thing that doesn't look right though. It does the job as intended however, the item is not straight. There is a slight curve in the shaft. Again, the curve doesn't have an affect on the results though.

Solid strike
I was using this punch to make 2 dimples on several pieces of annealed 1075 steel. Left a nice dimple with 1 strike but i normally do 2 just because. With any punch you should really use a rawhide mallet. Plenty of force but it doesn't mushroom out the back of the punch. This one came with a nice point and chamfering around the striking end. Has held up. I use this companies pin punches as well and havent experienced any issues.

Do you know when you’re using a metal center punch he would want it to be harder than the metal that you’re trying to centerpunch and this metal is finally someone made a great hard metal center punch. I figured I’d give it a try cause it was made in the USA I think it comes in a set of four so you can’t miss.

Very good quality, very impressed with Mayhew USA tools. Been caught out with their Taiwan offerings (cheaper, but not as good IMO). Used on stainless and mild steel, and no problems. Pouch is a little flimsy, but that the tools are top notch
