Is this turmeric suitable for planting?

Absolutely suitable for planting! I never put my Turmeric in the fridge (it will mold) and if I'm slow using it, I plant the ones that sprout. I put water on my turmeric every week or so to keep it from drying out. I let it sit in the water for a few hours, then pour off the excess. If any turmeric sprouts before I can use it, I just stick it in the flower beds or a pot. You'll have a plant in no time....and lots of turmeric. Don't overwater after planting or it'll rot. I also plant ginger this way. You would not believe the size of the ginger roots I get.

What is the best way to store fresh Turmeric?

On the use and time length to consume. I use it in a salad, I cut them in very thin coins, than in quarters . To store I put them in containers with rice vinegar, 3 parts water to vinegar . You can use white wine as with ginger. It lasts me over six months, I also use the storage liquid . I do use both turmeric and ginger at the same time, they work because they are similar plant sisters.

Is this GMO FREE and USDA Organic?

is sold as NON GMO. ORGANIC, and I assume, is true, and they do not use pesticides, etc, REMEMBER that "USDA organic" is an expensive label certification, made by the USDA/ESTABLISHMENT, in detreiment of consumers, trying to make it very difficult and expensive to be certified, and for the POLLUTERS and other non even label or need of certification.

Turmeric from Jamaica is the lowest quality you can find, make sure when purchasing form sellers on this page (There are multiple sellers) that they send you the high quality roots like we do. High quality usually from Hawaii, Figi, California. Emailing the seller is the best way to make sure they are helping then more into selling.

Fresh Turmeric

Came in clean and ready to use! I washed it off anyway lol. Has an almost clean/fresh to it. Could tell it wasn’t old and good quality. Definitely will be my go-to in the future. Great deal too!

3 lbs is quite a bit, good condition

I'm pleased with the quality of the fresh tumeric roots. I bought to make tincture. 3 lbs after cutting it up filled a half gallon jar and a quart jar. I didn't know how much it would be so leaving this in the review if helpful to someone else.

Worth the price from this trustworthy seller.

We've been using raw turmeric for a long time because we think it's healthy. Unfortunately, prices at local stores for organic turmeric root have gone through the roof. Purchasing from this seller is a good deal. Good product, very well packed, shipped fast with UPS... I almost hesitate to write this so I don't jinx it, but this is our second order and the seller deserves the kudos. Highly recommended.

Don't buy it if you're looking to grow it.

I am disappointed. I purchased these tubers because I want to grow It. Unfortunately , it looks as though all of the nodules have been scraped or broken off. Also , it was packed in a plastic bag with a half of a half a piece of paper towel. In My texas climate , you may as well steem it in a microwave. So I don't have a lot of confidence that any of these will grow. As far as using them for culinary purposes, they actually look great. I would give them a five star. But my disappointment for growing them makes me take one star away.

Hands down the nicest turmeric root Ive ever seen! Bug fast juicy tubers! I juice them and they make a lot of juice, the smell and flavour is awesome! So rich, floral and earthy! You can taste the healing with every sip! Will definitely buy again!!

Very good, will order again. My only suggestion would be to wrap the turmeric in something more moisture-wicking as it was damp when I received it. No mold or anything though. (It came wrapped in brown paper.)

Love this product, best turmeric I've ever seen now that they're back from the original supplier... shipoing used to be free but now for where i am the shipping rate is the same for 1 lb or 5lbs... makes more sense to order more
