BIRCHWOOD CASEY Securelock Durable Adjustable Gun Vise with Steel Frame, Non-Slip Leveling Feet & Top Mounting Provisions

Finally broke down and bought the Birchwood Casey adjustable gun vice. I looked at so many others and decided that this was the better value. Gunsmiths may want to get something more substansive, but for those of us who need a third hand for cleaning or minor maintenance, this will do the job. Easy to set up and adjust. I should note, this does NOT have height adjustable legs as the product description mentions. There are ways around that if it is an issue. It is sturdy and solid. Can be bolted to a work bench if desired. Folds down for easy storage.

I love this vise. It's supper simple to set up and works great on all my weird AR stock configurations. Who ever designed this knew what they were doing. Great product and made very well, I was really impressed didn't even wait for amazon to ask me for a review. I will definitely be looking at more products made by these guys!! Although used by some for zeroing-in sites, this is not a good vise for that unless your shooting bench, table or ground is perfectly level. Would be a superb product for if they included: (a) leveling legs, (b) added-on leveling bubbles. Otherwise I found this item sturdy and it held my FN-15 (AR-15 by FN) very firmly and would be great for cleaning, adding accessories, etc. Otherwise, no complaints. If you're looking for just a gun vise so you can stabilize your gun whilst making changes or cleaning, great purchase!

I had read a bunch of reviews with complaints about the description being erroneous. Well, that is true there is no base or height adjustment. The vise sits nice and flat, feels sturdy and completely suits my needs. I used it yesterday to do some modifications on an air rifle and it worked perfectly fine.I really like it and consider it very good value for money.

This vise is a decent vise for gun cleaning and maintenance but the vise you receive is not at all like the picture and some of the product info is wrong too. In the picture the jaws of the vise look like they close all the way so that it would grip the barrel of even small caliber rifles, which is the entire reason I bought it, but the one I received isn't like that so you have to space the vice so that it closes on the forend. The jaws also aren't height adjustable like it says in the description. I returned the first one sent to me but the replacement I received was exactly the same as the first. Amazon gave me a full refund and allowed me to keep the vise which I thought was very nice of them. I reported the issue with the listing to customer service so hopefully they can get this changed because it is a decent vise for the $36 I paid and compares well with other vises of the price range but the picture and info need to be updated or it's only going to tick people off and get bad ratings.
