AMAZING READ!!
We have all tried and failed at something before due to lack of knowhow. Well, in baking I was almost a certified loser. That is, until I came across Michelle McManus. In the past, I either got the temperature wrong, the recipe wrong, or the duration wrong. I am grateful to Michelle because I can confidently say these problems are part of my past. I can’t seem to stop baking and I am hooked more and more as I turn the pages. I have been thinking of starting my own business and this right here is a step in the right direction. I hope that by the time I finish this book, my plan will have moved from my head to my kitchen counter. I’m hooked. I can’t wait for more!!

Fresh and filled with great advice
Have been brainstorming business ideas for over a year now, and this book has so much in it, that it took me a long time to finish. Great advice, lots of practical tips and inspirational, because I have had tons of new ideas from reading this. Have been taking notes and doing my own research, but starting a bakery business from home looks completely doable if that is what you want to do. Looking forward to starting collaborations on selling recipes to local bakeries and making artwork for existing brands.

“Be A Baker” covers everything that someone might worry about when opening a bakery. Many of the tips can also work for other food-related shops. It’s a helpful guide on what to look for in storefronts, how to set goals, and even duller topics like licensing.If you need help with pricing, taxes, advertising, and other business-related aspects, this is your book. If you’re looking for baking tips? Not so much. It’s for experienced bakers who already know what they want to do and just need to know how to do it.

I liked all the info he gave on how to start a business. It really helped me get that push I need to want to start.I would recommend this book to anyone with a dream.

Very, very general...
OK, it was only $13, so you won't be much out of pocket. But this was far less helpful that I'd hoped, simply because it's so over-generalized. It serves as a good "what I need to do" list, but isn't much help in DOING that. No examples of business plans, marketing strategies, etc. Very surprisingly, no list of useful resources, suppliers, vendors. That's basic to any cookbook, let alone a how-to-start-a-business manual.

The right temperature
Though I am a decent baker, I've always wished I stayed in the kitchen more when I was younger to see how my parents made a lot of the food that I love- my cousin now plays the role of chef and he also has dreams of doing a lot more with his gift.That's where this book comes in - with me being the other half of the operation, I found that this book had everything that we needed in order to take our dreams to a higher level.The business side, which can deter someone who is passionate about their craft, was thoroughly explained in this book and actually made it easier for us as far as our direction was concerned. With each section broken down, we were able to take notes and actually map out our plan.
