I found these labels to be pretty straightforward to use and they seem like they will hold up to extended use. The first thing you need to do is get software to print with. You'll have varying results depending on what you choose but I want with Open Office because I already had it installed. To get a template I searched Google for "Avery 8692 template" and it was the first result. The only issue I had was that I couldn't get it to print the side labels, but that is that fault of my software; not the labels. Go ahead and download the DesignPro software. I'd imagine it works well as Avery recommends it. I have a laser printer and while these are labeled for ink-jet, they worked just fine.Each sheet has two CD labels and four case side labels. These side labels fit perfectly on the side of your average commercial CD case, not the thin ones. I found that the best way to apply any of them was to start in the middle. For the actual CD label, I grabbed opposite edges and pushed them slightly together so the center would be lower. I then placed it just off the surface of the CD until the inside edge of the label lined up with the inside edge of the image already on the disc and softly set it down. I pretty much let it go at that point and it started to fall into place. Then I gave it a quick rub from the inside to the outside and was finished.The surface of the labels is ever so slightly smoother than your average printer paper. Nothing close to glossy though, you'll never see any glare. For those of you wondering about how well the adhesive will hold up; you have nothing to worry about. I ruined my first set of labels when I peeled off the first one and then promptly dropped it 3 inches onto the other one. I tried to slowly peel it off but it already had a good hold. For round two I held on better and once I laid the label on the disc, a quick run over with my fingers inspired confidence that it wouldn't be coming off any time soon.Avery has been making office products for many years and it shows in this product. I can think of no con to this. The labels were exactly as described, worked great, and make me what to see what else they have that I could use. Would recommend.

Used these to label some burned CDs and DVDs in my wife's vehicle to make them easier to identify than having to read sharpie written on the disk. The alignment is no good. I used the PDF template on my Mac and could not get the disks to properly align with several different settings. I tried scale to fit, and actual size. Not a big deal for me, so I didn't fool with it any further, but might be an issue for others. Adhesion of the labels were good. I was able to align the labels properly without the stamper accessory thing.

This product works great.. I seen a lot of negative reviews for Avery not working or screwing up prints and alignment.. But Also for most products there's usually horrible reviews on stuff... I use Avery products to make my own Tee-shirt prints as well and have had flawless results..If your a Genuine DIY person and have basic computer knowledge and can follow instructions you'll do fine or should. But Ignorance seems to be the norm these days... I hate to say that but reading up on reviews for this was very discouraging at first..Thankfully This product is fantastic.. Sticks well doesn't give me any issues as to peeling and looks professional on my EP cutz!!I'll be using this as long as it continues to serve its purpose.. I would like to see some upgrades though to fonts from Avery's design tools.. Overall I can't complain!!

These Avery CD/DVD labels are just the thing for anyone who uses DVD's to store data from their computer as I do! They are rather easy to make, and with the label application kit, are rather easy to apply to one's DVD'S or CD'S. With these labels, there will never again be a need for the user to have to use a felt pen to write on DVD'S or CD'S to identify the contents of the disc.

Great product from a great company.

For years, my local Staples had these labels and these, with the applicator, made label-making a breeze. When I needed another box, I saw that they did not have the Avery brand but Memorex instead -- needing them right away, I purchased them. What a mistake! Nothing but problems -- of course the software was not included, and the none of the templates in Windows 7 matched that brand (all of the Avery templates are readily available and pre-bundled in Windows -- but even if they were not, I am sure you could download them from Avery) so I went to the Memorex website to see if they had the template software. What a joke. Even installing the software was problematic and once it installed it was just one issue after another. I couldn't make a label if I tried. I sought out my tried and true Avery brand, and I'm back in business!! Works every time, perfectly. And I really like the applicator -- makes it so simple to affix to the CD!
