Yes, the top layers fall off after a while. So what? You can still use it for a while as you get around to replacing it. Which you should. And now I start raving about it - raving about a simple sponge! It's the only things I've ever found that cleans glasses and mugs with just a few swipes, then put them on the drying rack. It also cleans bowls, plates, and everything else. I hand wash dishes because I rarely get enough dirty to use the dishwasher. (Which is also expensive to use.) They started to pile up in the sink then I realized what was wrong: I'd misplaced this wonderful tool. Even though by then the dishes were kind of icky I picked it up, put soap on it, and got to work. And my hands stayed clean. In short you rarely get your hands in dishwater, this cleans everything and more with just a bit of soap; the glasses come out cleaner than they do from a dishwasher; and the moment you've finished with a glass or coffee mug instead of putting them in the sink or dishwasher just swish them clean. It's much faster. If you do use a dishwasher what about all those dirty pans and such. So just get one. Faster on some things than a dishwasher and even if you do use one what about all those dirty pans? It might take a while to get in the habit of hand washing dishes, odds and ends, or using anything other than a sponge when you don't have to; we all think of getting our hands messy. This is quick, easy, and you'll forget about your hands. Over the years I've lived without a dishwasher and recently with one. Either way this is the best tool I've ever found . It changes dishes from time consuming hassle to something you do without thinking in a few minutes.

I bought a similar scrubber at WalMart a few months ago and loved it. When I returned to get another, they no longer carried it. I found a similar scrubber at Kroger but it did not last as long so I searched Amazon for my next replacement. I use it mostly to prep dishes for the dishwasher and to clean larger dishes. I like that I can keep my hands dry when using. This scrubber came loose at the head with the second use and would spin when I tried to use it, making it ineffective unless I held the head, thus defeating the purpose of keeping my hands dry. After using a week, the foam pieces started to rip. I do not use it aggressively. I expect the foam to weaken after a few weeks of use so I put this product on auto ship when ordering so that I would always have one. But I did not expect it to be virtually useless after 2 uses so I am now cancelling that auto ship and searching for a better made handled scrubber. This product was also more expensive than the ones I purchased at WalMart and Kroger. Maybe I got a dud with this first shipment but I am not willing to test that theory.

Works great, one of the sponge layers fell off after about 6 weeks but still totally usable… not the best but sponges should probably be replaced more often than this will last. Good product

Nice item but too expensive for what it is!

The sponge has a hard time fitting in a regular sized glass, I had to use pressure to get it to the bottom making me worried that the glass might break. The glass didn't break,but with every use the little sponges began to fall off the wand. I am attaching photos after at least 3 sponges had fallen off.

I have used this type of dish sponge for years and its durability is amazing. It’s easy to use and cleans with minimal effort. The size is perfect to wash any dishes in the sink.

Been using a number of years, well built and would through it away when it discolored after a few months. Then a new one would begin to unravel from the top before discoloring, the last new one the entire sponge fell of the handle straight out of the package. Believe they have taken designed obsolescence a bit far, moving on to a different brand.

I love this item. Gets glasses clean. Good quality. Will purchase again.

It is perfect as a great jar, water bottle, and glass washer.

Did not last one use. When pulling the sponge brush out of my water bottle it pulled the head right off.

Not worth the price at all! For a long time I was able to buy it at a cheaper store but now they don’t sell these. I thought I’d try from here! They aren’t very strong or even durable ! 1 broke within a few days
