This camera works flawlessly with HomeKit.
Having used this camera for several months now and still being pleased with and impressed by it I decided to write a short review. If you are looking for an Apple HomeKit compatible camera look no further! It has given me peace of mind when away from home to check in on my dogs. This camera seamlessly integrated with Apple HomeKit, and not only delivers crystal-clear video but also serves as a hub for my other Aqara devices. Its intuitive interface made for easy setup and management, while the advanced features like motion detection and two-way audio keep me connected and informed. As a very handy extra it serves as a siren when door sensors are triggered during the nighttime. This Aqara camera has impressed me so much that I have purchased several other of their products since.

Crystal clear image and fast response to detection
This camera serves as a hub for all Aqara devices, ensuring almost instantaneous notifications to activity detected by other cameras and sensors in the Aqara family. Setup is a breeze using the Aqara app and the image quality is incredibly sharp - even when using night vision. There’s plenty of storage options, (MicroSD, NAS, Aqara cloud and, if linked to HomeKit, iCloud). The built-in speaker and microphone allows two-way communication and the optional alarms are frightening/irritating enough to scare the cat.I haven’t yet got to grips with the many settings and linking to Apple Home isn’t as straightforward as it should be, however this isn’t enough to mark the product down.Overall, this is one of a series of excellent smart home devices from Aqara and I was impressed enough with my first G2H Pro camera to immediately buy another. As alluded to above, I also use three window/door sensors to complement the cameras and it hasn’t been a waste of money.I hope the company considers outdoor cameras for the UK market soon.

Great value HKSV camera - and hub for other accessories!
I’ve been using this for a few days now, it’s working excellently with HKSV. The camera shows as three devices in the home app - the camera itself, a motion sensor and a security system. The security system can be set up with the Aqara app, but I haven’t looked too far into this as I’ve not used their app (other than to update the software of the camera). The motion sensor responds very quickly, usually within 2 seconds and the picture quality is good, especially when considering the price. I’m also not using the hub functionality (yet) as I do not have any other aqara devices, but I’m definitely going to be using this in the future. There is a multifunctional button on the camera that you can use to do a number of things, like link new devices or reset the camera, all without using their app - this is great if you plan to use with HomeKit. I would definitely consider this over the eve/Logitech offerings considering the price and functionality available.

Easy choice of camera
Brilliant peace of kit, and for the money it’s well worth it for the added bit of security, super easy to set up with the Aqara app then also adding it to Apple Home is a breeze. The picture is brilliant and crystal clear, the sound quality is also great as well. Overall the functionality of the device is brilliant. Will be purchasing more.It also acts as a hub so you can connect all over Aqara devices to it - perfect for such a simple set up without having hubs connected to the router

Privacy and trust issues, outdated tech, incomplete product out of the box
No charger supplied, outdated Micro USB to USA-A connector. This is something that should be in place as standard in 2004.This is a brand of Lumi United Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese-based company that is really opaque with a Westernised look website chock full of stock photos, device privacy policy that is impossible to find online (only the one for the website is readily available). The CEO is not referred to by name, but only as "World-class scientist in automation and control technology" on their website. There are no pictures or names of people on the board available. If all of the above is not a major trust issue, I don't know what is.Think twice before putting this thing into your house. To contact customer services, you need to "create a ticket". No expectations of a reply and wait times are communicated.Camera bought on Black Friday "deal" for fifty-nine pounds. After Black Friday finished, a fifteen percent voucher was available which brought the price down to the same fifty-nine pounds. So it wasn't a special BF deal after all. This thing is going back to Amazon.

Ideal and discrete
I got this to install in the lounge as I need to be able to keep an eye on my mother who sadly has dementia when I am not in the lounge. It is connected up to my Apple HomeKit system so I am able to make sure things are ok when I am in the kitchen or upstairs (or even away from home via my iPhone). The picture quality is great and although I do not actually make use of it the night vision is astounding - when the room is in pitch darkness the camera produces a superb image. This gives me peace of mind to work around the house whilst being able to keep an eye things just in case.

Just works!
Set up took 60 seconds in Home app. Easy. Picture quality is excellent and customisable notifications are superb. Live video and 10-days recordings on iCloud, no setup required , just works (no extra cost as I already pay for the 2TB option). I have this on landing window sill pointing out to driveway and works great. Will be buying a second one for back of house too!

Great indoor security camera, but app caused a few issues with initial connection.
Connecting the camera to Apple Home was real easy by using the QR code on the device, however I couldn't get the camera to connect to the Aqara app. After many attempts I nearly gave up. It was then I found within the settings under Profile, a setting called Homekit, then Homekit devices. Using this setting allowed the app to find my camera that was already connected to Apple Homekit and then all was good after that.Once connected to the app I was then able to connect the camera to my Synology NAS for video storage, this went smoothly. Now that I know how to set this up, I've ordered a further 2 camera's for different locations within my home.
