Yes, you read that right. We’ve been using this brand of onion powder for many years. It has a very fine, smooth texture, it blends well and it tastes fantastic. It mixes as easily into mayo or dressings as it does into soups and stews. The jug it comes in is sturdy and the handle makes it easier to work with. The price is great for the amount. Besides cooking, my wife sprinkles a little of this powder in her flower beds and vegetable garden in the late summer and early fall when the squirrels and chipmunks start digging. They don’t like the smell or taste of onion. Often, just smelling it will stop them from digging, but for the ones that try anyway, once they get a little on their feet and lick it off, they change their minds really fast. It isn’t harmful to them, the taste is simply too strong for them and they don’t like it. Sometimes she will mix this with a bit of red pepper powder, as some of the little diggers seem to be repelled by one more than the other. You can also mix it in water and use it as a spray. Areas will need to be retreated after it rains, but it only takes a small amount to be effective. She also sprinkles some into our composters, turning some into the mix and leaving a little sprinkle on the surface to deter any insects or rodents. This jug will last us a very long time. For long term storage, pour it into resealable freezer bags and store it in the freezer. It’s a great way to always have some on hand when you need it.

McCormick's Culinary Onion Powder brings wonderful flavor to your foods. It is strong, so only a little is needed; however if you want more onion flavor, by all means, use more. The large size is a very good buy, and certainly worth purchasing!

This is an ultra-fine onion powder, so it's more suited to measuring out than for shaking onto something. That said it's fairly potent and keeps well because the container seals up nicely. This isn't for the casual cook, it's more for the chef level, or at least someone who cooks a lot. 20 ounces is over a pound of powder, a good size if you are making your own rubs, but consider a smaller container if you don'tr use it often because it will eventually loose it's aroma.

Good Product. Very fine powder. Good flavor. Definitely can't get this locally.

Like this spice. Only issue is it will dry and clump when close to being all used.
