desertcart.com: Fabric Weaving: Play with Color & Pattern; 12 Projects, 12 Designs to Mix & Match: 9781644031681: Boudreaux, Mathew, Curtis, Tara J: Books Review: Lotsa good stuff! - I found a pattern that uses woven ribbons, but 1. They are expensive and 2. They are polyester. I thought to myself, "Self, there must be a way to replicate this pattern using cotton!" So, I searched for cotton ribbons. They want to fray, plus see #1 above. Next, I found this lovely book. YAY!!! I was right, there was another way! And I can reuse thrifted clothes or scraps from other projects. I already own bias tape makers and wefty-type tools in several sizes, spray starch, an iron, several yards of heat-activated interfacing, lots of colors of threads, and a few sewing machines. All I need is to put together a grid board. I also have grid paper to plan my designs!!! I am having surgery, and am looking for something interesting to do during my down time. I think this looks like a *lot* of fun. This book has no typos, is well-written and well-illustrated, and has no complicated patterns to try to get copied from my phone. Overall, 9 out of 10 bobbins! Good job. Highly recommended to buy or borrow. Lots of inspiration. Good for all ages, but it might be too complicated for those under 10. 🧵🧵🧵🧵🧵🧵🧵🧵🧵 Review: I'm thrilled about this book! - I'm really happy to see this book, because I took a fabric weaving class with one of the co-authors, Tara, years ago and really loved it, but I have forgotten how to do it due to time away from the craft. When I opened this book, I was thrilled to see the beautiful projects but most importantly, the clear instructions! There are so many great projects in this book, presented beautifully, and I'm very excited to work on them.

Super fun way to use fabric strips!
I've followed Mx. Domestic for a long time, and was super happy to get his book! You can look at tutorials online, but there's something really satisfying about holding a book in your hand to learn something. Lots of really neat projects and very clear instructions. If you've wanted a new technique to learn, this is it!
