I have suffered with IBS since I was in my early 20's. And ever since I had chemo/radiation in 2004 for cancer, at age 44 my digestive system has been an even worse mess. After chemo I had cramping and diarrhea every day at some point after I ate my first meal of the day. I never knew when it would hit and there were times when I'd leave the house and would have to turn the car around to race back home and barely make it in time to use the bathroom. Sometimes I just wouldn't eat if I knew I had to be somewhere. Not only was this problem inconvenient but it could also be very painful and debilitating.My doctor suggested I use a probiotic and with that I saw mild success. Then a woman at the Food Co-Op suggested digestive enzymes, which I had never heard of. She suggested I start with a less expensive papaya blend (which was a different brand than Flora's) to see if that helped and work my way up with the more expensive ones. I saw some improvement with the papaya but it was hit and miss. So I tried a more expensive brand that had a different blend than just the papaya and saw a lot more improvement with it. It still was a little bit "iffy" at times. Then a doctor told me about the Flora brand so I tried them and saw a HUGE difference right away.I usually take only 1 capsule first thing in the morning before (or right before) I eat anything. I do take it with at least 8 ounces of water (that's only 1 cup measured). I've been taking them for 2 months now and I cannot tell you how this has changed my life. I feel great now! I don't have to suffer on a daily basis any more! It's unbelievable to me that I lived in such misery for years and don't have to anymore. I have more energy and it's nice to not have to be tied down by having to have bathroom availability on a moment's notice. I wish I'd found this years ago.I want to add that I also use (by Flora) their Udo's Oil 3-6-9 Blend capsules. They have Omega essential fatty acids and have helped lower my cholesterol 38 points. I take two of those in the evening on a full stomach (after I eat dinner). I think they help with my digestive problems somehow too. Since I've taken the one Enzyme Blend capsule in the morning and the two Udo's Oil Blend 3-6-9 capsules in the evening I have not had an issue with pain, cramping and diarrhea and I've felt more energetic and happy and healthy. I can't say enough good things about them. They have truly changed my life for the better!The only negative thing with the Udo's Oil 3-6-9 Blend capsules is that they are pretty big. My husband did not like them for this reason but they are a gel capsule so I didn't have any problems with them. The Enzyme Blend capsule is smaller and is easy to swallow.I tried other digestive enzyme brands but Flora's is by far the best one. They are not the least expensive but they are also not the most expensive. In fact they are very reasonably priced (in my opinion) compared to a lot of other brands. I'm very satisfied with them and have no need to look elsewhere, I'm sticking with them!!

I have a hard time making sure I get plenty of vegetables and fruit because of my schedule. I have recently noticed I have a difficult time digesting meat and dairy. When I got these enzymes I wasn't REALLY expecting them to work. After two days I noticed I was sleeping better and waking up feeling more rested.

Before I went gluten free, much like a lot of other people, I thought there was something wrong with my stomach and that I hade an allergy to foods in general. I originally bought this to help with digestion. I have found over time that depending on what I am eating, if I start to feel stomach cramps and I take one of these, they almost seem to magically disappear. I use to take the pink stuff, but now this has replaced that. If I am not sure about what I am eating, I take one of these 1/2 hour before the meal. If the meal is unusually heavy and rich, I may take another one in the middle of the meal. I have found these to be a real help for me and it helps me avoid gastric distress.

I have been taking these for a little over a month now. When I first started taking them, I would take 1 every time I ate. And sometimes another one in the middle of a meal. I figured I'd give these a try since no doctors seem to be able to figure out what my problem is. I've been tested for yeast, celiac, autoimmune, lyme, IBS...all negative. I guess I just have a sensitive stomach and have a hard time digesting anything thats processed, grain, sugar or dairy. These enzymes help me tremendously. With a strict diet alone I was still having problems & reactions to food, so I added these pills in my daily diet. I take 1 pill with each meal or with snacks/meals that I think might affect me. They made me a little gassy the first couple times, but nothing unbearable. I have been feeling great and back to my old self lately. I really like these. I didn’t think I had digestive issues, but my wife encouraged me to take these anyway, and it seemed like it it could be a good thing. Then after taking them for a while, I had a day where I didn’t take them and also ate a bunch of pizza. I was farting SO MUCH the whole evening, and it drove home the point that these enzymes actually are helping a lot. So if you’re farting all the time, try these.
