Good movie has a nice plot

Enjoyable, but not an "A". Rather than write what I liked, I'll tell what were the bugs.1) Little scripts holes in the film, like if he was the one who had been able to go beyond the envelope of limits, which is both stated in the chronicle as well as being shown when he walks on the movie aircraft, why does he not use that same ability when fighting in the aircraft (he is struggling to not fly out the hole in the plane)?2) The CGI was pretty good, but not perfect. Still pretty good, though.3) If we're made to believe in the reincarnation thing, this script did not invent some concepts to help us believe in it (because for the thinker it is absurd). But some creative thinking could have given us some answers as to how things work. Even though it's fantasy, it could have helped the film by going into some "theology" (best), or some strange mysticism to answer the problems. God, of course, is the only answer that suffices, but some creative thought might have given some background.

This 2021 movie has obviously too much violence in its struggle to make a point or inspire some contemplation about such a question. It is more just like a video game. I would welcome more reasoning about the storyline and the main characters. The storyline does not have enough originality, and the characters are foggy and little confusing. However, the movie despite its optimistic outcome is serious about human choice to reincarnate back here or not, never mind how powerful one can be. About a quarter of the people in USA believe in reincarnation, most people do not or do not care about it, however they are some who know for themselves by personal experience that it is a reality. We are coming here with very little residual memory of our previous lives which eventually enables us to elaborate much more about them. Of course, most people do not do anything about it, except for speculations or asking others.The movie is based on the concept of downloading human consciousness into a chip and putting it either into someone’s head, keeping it for future use in the cloud or in someone’s computer or smartphone. It is now very trendy. However, we are not just data, our souls are part of one universal reality, from which we separated and can go back after zillions of lives in this and many other manifested universes and planets. Souls simply cannot be put on the chip and held on the shelved drawers like in a prison in this movie. Years back in Czechoslovakia I saw another imagery in the movie “The End of Water Goblins in Czechia.” The water goblin’s family’s father held souls in the small porcelain mugs with covers. Sometimes humans can have enough and want to go back, get out of the infinite process which Buddhists call the Wheel of Reincarnation. The movie’s villain Bathurst is so desperate that he wants to do it even by destroying the whole world, because he does not know other ways. Well, there were and are some people, mostly men, who would not mind that, if their selfish desire could be fulfilled. The convenient way for creators of this movie apparently taken from some cultures’ mythologies was the portrayal of cosmic egg and Bathurst’s effort to find and destroy it. As the movie suggested, the way to find such an egg symbolizing all that exists is inside (of a human being). So, the whole story is about that egg, good guys protectors and bad guys destroyers, like in a video game. What about you, what would you like to do after this marvelous lifelong school is over for you? Most people, perhaps not surprisingly, would like to come back, if they could reincarnate. I would not, why to come again to the school in which I was already many times. I finally learned everything in this earthly life I needed to know. It also became boring after all. Would you like to come back, or not?

I think this movie is pretty good - those critics don't really know a whole lot sometimes (Wikipedia reports the critics' reviews as being bad) it seems. Look at critics' reviews of Home Alone and it was blockbuster at box office - if this had been released instead of canceled due to COVID it might have done well at the box office. I think the acting is pretty good - and it has some interesting story lines. I'm into history and other cultural stuff and all that so I like this movie.

I do not understand the lesser reviews. Mark Wahlberg is great. He has perfected sarcastic, dry humor when he acts. The story is a fabulous tale of faith. Chiwetel Ejiofor's performance is sad and beautiful. I haven't seen a science fiction/fantasy movie this great in a long time; much appreciated. Thank you to all involved in the making of this wonderful tale brought to life through the magic of film making.

Good movie

All these characters are reborn time and again. The bad guy wants to stop that from happening because he's tired of it. He's got some kind of device that will achieve his goal. The entire movie is about those of his kind that don't want it to end so they spend the entire time trying to stop him. In the end the bad guy fails and everyone is reborn again. So, after two hours of mayhem and destruction, everything starts all over again. Can't help but wonder - what's the point?
