can we keep those lights on 24/7 safely , do they get too hot ?

As long as there is nothing that can burn below them like for example over stacked boxes that are two close I would see no problem. They are not as hot as the incandescent type lights we replaced in our factory. About 1 out of 10 will burn out in about 8 weeks of use. That is what we found. It seems to be a connection problem, if you hit it with a broom stick they come on for a couple weeks. Returning them is a hassle by the seller, I have 4 awaiting return
