Source's "Storm 'Non-Bite' Valve" Greatest Hydration Invention Ever Made!
As a user of Source Storm 'Non-Bite' Hydration Valves for many years I haven't used any other make or type bite valve since I found them, I have 'all' of my "Geigerrig" packs with 3 Liter bladders (Geigerrig calls their bladders "Hydration Engines") with Source's replacement insulated replacement tubes with their quick disconnect ends, I also have Source's UTA Rapid Refill Adapters in each pack, they make it possible to refill the engine from any outdoor water faucet or the kitchen sink 'Without Having To unzip anything or remove the Hydration Engine From The Pack, when it's full I simply switch the rapid refill with the Storm valve and I'm good to go. I use Geigerrig's because the Hydration Engines are 'pressurized' with a 'Blood Pressure Type Bulb' that fills the engine's back chamber with air through it's top end, then the bulb is held against the left shoulder strap with a Velcro fastened Geigerrig sleeve with their logo on the front, I purchased a second Velcro sleeve for each of the packs, this one holds the 'quick fill adapter' to the right strap, then the hose tube connects to it's water side (front) at the bottom with it's quick connect fitting, then the Source's Storm Push / Pull 'Non-Bite' valve works GREAT for me because I have full top / bottom plastic teeth which don't always operate a regular bite valve without them moving around some, so I pump up the engine with around twelve pumps, unlock the storm valve place it into my mouth & gently pull the valve open with my teeth and due to the pressurized air chamber I no longer have to suck the refreshing water into my mouth, it comes from the engine on it's own, when I've had enough I simply push the sliding valve against my teeth to shut it off, then lock the valve by turning outside ring clockwise one quarter turn then place the supplied plastic cover over the valve until next time. Another selling point by Geigerrig is when you have your best four legged buddy with you and is thirsty to, simply open the valve and squirt the water into your thirsty dogs mouth, then you both are refreshed. Source's Regular Bite Valve's are called Helix, they also lock by turning them a quarter turn. Needless to say I love the five or six Geigerrig / Source 'Storm Non-Bite' valve and all their attachments. I totally recommend both Source Tactical Storm bite-less valves, their insulated replacement tubes and their UTA Quick Fill Adapters 'and' all of Geigerrig's packs and Hydration Engines to everyone! (Since I started buying & using Geigerrig's products I think they have been bought out by Aqua-Mira, they make backpacking filters, & water purification products.) I also love Amazon & Prime.

DESIGNED FOR LARGE HOSE
I had an old cheap hydration pack I used for festials with a crappy bite valve that had been worn out. I wanted a biteless option and found this. Of course when I received it I realized it is much larger than my hose from the cheap bag. Although it was cheap the bladder still functions properly and I didnt want to buy a new one so I had to get crafty. Boil a pot of water and insert the end of your hose into the water for a minute or two. Then use something to pry it just wide enough to fit the end onto the valve. Repeat and this time shove it all the way on. Give it a minute to cool and youve just resized your hose to fit! No leaks yet from me.

Cap can't be perfectly secure but provides ample hydration in a single draw.
Cap on valve doesn't securely close. Otherwise, this's a very nice product as it allows for a much larger volume of water/liquid to be delivered in a single draw. That is the BEST aspect of this product.

Much better than a bite vale.
My wife said she really liked her bite valve and didn't want to change. Then I let her drink from my free flow valve. She wanted one. My valve went bad after 4 years of abuse so I ordered 2 more. 1 to replace my old valve and 1 as a backup.

Good Quality Product; Beware of Freezing
I really like the non-bite feature and locking mechanism. Also, the modularity of the part helps in certain situations. For example, this last weekend I was hiking in 17F weather. The valve froze almost immediately and wouldn't "unlock" and, obviously, no water flowed through it. But I was able to take the value off, put it between my jacket and shirt for a few minutes and thaw it out. Then I popped it back on, wiggled the hose a little and was able to drink again. From that point on I just kept the valve in my pocket when I wasn't drinking, while it was still below freezing outside.

Protected mouth piece
Took the bite valve off my MSR Dromedary hose adapter, which worked fine. I just don't like it. Popped off the Source o ring and stored the o ring from the Source valve on the MSR bite valve while heating the MSR hose end in boiling water for 5+ minutes. The tricky part: wrestling the hot hose end onto the Source mouth piece. Got it done with patience and a few choice words. Works great and fits tight. Be patient, if I can do it others can do it too.

Actually lets you get a decent drink of water!
Excellent valve! I have retrofitted all of my water bladders with this valve. Unlike a bite valve, this beauty actually lets you get a decent volume of water. It is also easy to clean and very durable. The only drawback is the infuriating shrink wrap on the new valve. Once you get released from the ER and the psych ward, and get the valve installed, it is great.Bonus tip: If the hose fitting seems too big, boil a coffee cup full of water in the microwave, then insert the end of the hose in the cup for several minutes. You will then be able to slide it over the fitting. When the hose cools you'll have a great leak proof seal.
