Shoji and Kumiko Design: Book 3 Hexagonal Patterns

This one completes my collection. I now have all the books in the series from Desmond. Every single one of them is so well done, could not be happier.Get it now, would highly recommend.

This is the 3d of the 4 books I have bought and I plan on buying the 4th. They are the best books I've ever bought. Step by step instructions with diagrams, pictures to help you along. I recommend starting with book 1 and go from there. You get a tools needed list, jigs needed and blueprints on how to make them, and references on what he is going over again from book 1 or 2 with page numbers and what book. I've been woodworking since 1974 but if your a beginner you can still do this amazing craft. Mr King has always answered questions via email or Instagram and sent me pictures of tools I didn't understand. Such a relaxing craft to learn. When I first started kumiko everything was in Japanese, this is in English. A BIG PLUS.

I bought all 3 books. The first was a bit long bout the basics but that's what it was, basic. An all time great read and detailed greatly. I recommend this book and his others as well. Great for the common woodworker if you have all kinds of machines lathes and giant drills and saws. Probably not for you.

All Des King's books are excellent. He knows what he's talking about, having studied in Japan and speaking the language. No one else comes close when it comes to teaching us about kumiko.
