Q: Is this phone not a prepaid phone so that i can add it to my existing at&t account?

It has a prepaid sim card in it. We were told by ATT that we could change the SIM card and add it to our existing ATT account. ATT sent us two different SIM cards. Neither worked in the phone. We returned the phone.

Q: will this work with consumer cellular? They use att towers.

My understanding is that it is locked to AT&T, so that would mean "No" for Consumer Cellular, whom you should call. They have a phone number.
