Floating Shelf Brackets, Hidden Wall Shelve Bracket, floating bracket

Floating shelf bracket is poorly made. The rods that support the shelf must be perpendicular to the mounting flange that attaches to the wall. I bought 2, 54” brackets and on both, the rods were out of plumb by 5/32” to 3/16” over the 6” length of the rods. This made the shelf rise or fall (dependent on the orientation of the bracket) from being flat once installed. My 10-1/2” wide shelves were 5/16” out of level. I made one of the brackets work by shimming the rods but the solution wasn’t ideal and time consuming. In addition, the rods have filet welds where the are mounted to the mounting flange. The welds protrude from the flange up to 1/4”. This requires the shelves to be counterbored appx. 7/8” dia x 1/4” deep to allow for clearance of the welds so that the shelf will sit flush with the wall. I emailed Csonka about my concerns and received no reply. I then requested to return the one bracket I didn’t use 7 weeks after receipt due to it’s out of plumb construction and was denied a return saying I had it too long.Poor quality, poor customer service. These aren’t ar product that you want to buy

My son-in law installed these for me - and they are well worth the wait - each bracket is made shortly after you order so it takes about a week to 10 days to get to the east coast. I read the reviews, and although I was a bit skeptical about the square post in the 1/2" round hole my son-in-law tells me this is much easier than the brackets he usually installs with round pipes - those require much more precision although they are a little more adjustable. But other products are more complicated, more expensive, and in the end all that matters is how they function because the bracket is hidden.

I purchased the 5 foot long bracket to install a mantle on our rock fireplace. I was working with a very uneven surface. The multiple holes provided more than enough anchor points to select the best ones on the uneven surface. I ended up using 8 of the 12 anchor holes & the mantle is solid.I chose this one thinking the flat rods would be easier to line up to the holes in the mantle than systems with round rods (requiring more precision). I also thought they might be stronger than the thin walled, hollow round rods. I am very pleased with my choice. Having only one (5 foot long) piece is easier to level than multiple mounts. It went up very easily & I have no fear of the mantle coming down (I could hang on it).In the picture you can make out the flat surface of the anchor behind (to the right of) the mantle. There is a gap because our rock fireplace has an uneven surface.

Can't say we loved this product. We made shelves for our kitchen, but the brackets weren't made to be precise enough. One points down while the other points up. This made it super hard to get straight shelves. One of our four shelves currently slopes downward on one side because we drilled the holes in the wood to be perfectly straight, but the brackets aren't straight. We're figured out the issue by the last shelf and compensated. At least we have one straight shelf, I guess.

Worked great! You’ll need a steady hand and a long 5/8” drill bit or paddle bit kept very straight. A drill press works best. Good company with good customer service.

Exactly what I needed to install heavy cedar mantle beam. Good quality. Easy to install. (They recommend attaching to studs if hanging heavy beam.) Super customer service when I had questions on size and installation before purchasing!

I ordered a pair of 70" brackets and they were shipped within a week. There were 5 supports on each brackets and number holes for mounting. Only a few lined up with the studs, but more appropriate holes were easily drilled. I had the shelves installed professionally and they look great. Several of the support brackets were bent on arrival, but were straightened with the aid of length of pipe.

Bought this for our mantel shelf. It is so sturdy and solid! The contractor hung from it to show how secure it was to the wall. Will be buying more in the future. Excellent quality. Straight pegs, heavy duty
