Drobo DR-5X-1P11Replaceable Level VI Power Supply for 5D, 5N, and 5C - All Regions

I used this unit to replace the power supply for a Drobo Generation 1 unit! The old one has having troubles providing enough power for all 4 drives. Drobo recommended this unit and it has worked wonders! It is much better made than the original. I highly recommend it for anything requiring the power it provides.UPDATE 2019/1/20: The power supply died. I'm not sure it lasted 2 years. It was running off of a power conditioning UPS that outputs a perfect sine wave. The unit was kept cool and dry.I finally ordered a replacement that arrived today (2019/8/17), but it was completely different. The cable that plugs into the wall was missing and the tip was completely different and angled. The tip does fit the Gen 1 unit, but it's difficult to fit in unless the Drobo unit is raised up to accommodate the angled plug. The previous one came with an adapter that fit perfectly. The previous unit jack was smaller, but the adapter/dongle fit perfectly (if not a little snug).When the replacement arrived, it was DOA yet the pilot light was lit. This new plug fits, barely due to the angle. Anna at customer service is quickly shipping out a replacement. Hopefully, it will yield some power out of the unit. I will update when the new unit arrives.UPDATE: 2019/08/20:The new one works! Now, the count down begins to see if it lasts more than 2 years.

Two stars because it works, no more because its 70$ and doesn't include the wall portion of the cord. I doesn't matter i have 9 in my closet, its 70$ and I expect it to be complete.

The power supply works but.... as has been mentioned several times before the product does NOT reflect the photo. That’s a bit disconcerting.

The supply an my Drobo died and replacements via Drobo were backordered. I took a chance on this one. Seems to be exactly the same unit. Working correctly without any issues.

The Drobo powers supply has been backordered for what seems like forever. I ordered a power supply for my Drobo #1 from Amazon and it worked fine. I pick up another Drobo from a friend but he couldn't find the power supply so I ordered another. When it arrived, this one was not the same as the first, however it was working so I didn't think much of it.4 months in, all the lights on my Drobo turned yellow! Freaked me out. I saw on some forums to check the power supply. I swapped it out, and sure enough it fired right up. Sadly, the official power supplies are backed ordered again and the ones on Amazon now are 100s of dollars. Guess I will be waiting.

as soon as i plugged this into my drobo 5D there was a pop and smoke can out! on inspection my drobo board has blown a chip right next to plug.i cannot say whether the issue was my drobo or the cord. if you have a circuit tester, i’d verify the output before plugging in.

In fact, it is worse than that. The picture in the website is looks like exactly the official power supply that comes withe Drobo unit, the product sent is looks different. It not only looks different but it is less powerful, so I am not convinced that it is going to last as long as the original that came with the unit, which is a 12,5A and the one sold by amazon is 10A.

Bei meinem fast 5 Jahre altem Drobo 5D ist das Netzteil ausgefallen, was sogar die Sicherung des Arbeitszimmers rausgehauen hat. Dieses Ersatzteil ist original von Drobo und in der Tat kleiner von seinen Abmessungen her als die Version, die meinem Gerät ursprünglich beilag — bei gleichen Leistungsdaten. Aus dem Grund gibt's die volle Punktzahl, auch wenn das Netzkabel fehlt… aber da kann man ja das Originalkabel verwenden, was gleich unnötigen Abfall vermeidet!

I bought his power supply because my 2nd Gen Drobo Power supply died after many years trouble-free service. I couldn't find an exact replacement so I decided to try this as I didn't want to lose the data on my Drobo. The new supply is capable of a little more current than the original This is an original Drobo part but the supply's 12V plug is different to that on the original 2nd Gen Drobo Power Supply. However, I cut off a length of the 12V cable with the 12V plug on the end from the old supply, and soldered on a "6.5mm x 3.0 DC DC Power Jack Adaptor Solder Female Connector", which I got on Amazon, to the free end of the cable. After testing my adaptor cable, I plugged it in and it is worked perfectly. I also was able to access all my data on the Drobo as before.

Needed a replacement power supply for my Drobo 5N, as mine had died.Was cheaper than some other replacement supplies I'd seen, even on auction sites.Worked without issue on my Drobo 5N.
