Excellent camera, no problems at all except for one very minor issue
I've got two of these and am very happy with how good they are, also the free tier of Google Home is extremely generous compared to other home security camera brands. The only problem I have ever experienced with these is I have twice had a 'person detected in your house' warning, and on each occasion when I checked the clip it was due to it getting dark in the evening and the camera switching to night vision mode, which for some reason the app mistook for movement / a person in the house.

A WARNING FROM A NEST CAMARA USER !.I purchased 2 Nest Cams a couple of months ago to go into my mothers flat ( she is 90) within a care home environment - and in truth they work brilliantly well so the product is fine I have no problem with that at all. However I give you all a warning if you are planning a subscription to their footage storage service once your free trail runs out.I opted to take the 14 day storage plan for 2 cams at 12 pounds per month - all worked fine and was able to capture and store/copy of a section that showed mum having a fall - and just how good the response was to the incident on the day.About 10 days ago I received notice that my payment for the monthly fee had not gone through - well that was not right as funds are pretty plentiful and was only12 pounds - I contacted CS right away - it turns out it was my mums bank card that had just been lost - and was being replaced - so in other words Nest taking payments off a card rather than straight from a Bank account ! - people lose -get their cards damaged all the time need to have them replaced - it happens !- I informed Nest CS that a New Card was in transit and I would change it on the web site account soon as I received it - it may be 7-10 days, “yes no problem sir thanks for letting us know”….I asked please make a note- "yes sir no problem"Last Saturday I was out at a concert - I just checked to see if Mum was OK- but something I seen on the Cam was alarming me - so I left the gig- shot around to my Mums flat to find a criminal act had taken place - and my mother had been abused - I can’t and won’t say any more than that at the moment.I contacted the CS in Dublin the next morning and explained what had happened - the upshot is they say they have wiped the film ! - but they would come back to me to see if their is anything that can be done.I am sure many will know that you cannot entirely “wipe” from recording methods be it from a PC or from a SD card - its always there in the background - so it can be retrieved if needed.Still NEST have not come back to me - I have just rang them one last time and am waiting their reply - if you are reading this the answer was negative - so I WARN you this can happen - Nest take the money in advance - people do lose- damage their cards it WILL happen - and now a person who committed a criminal act will get away with it.

High quality and simple to use
Firstly I should say up front I have various ip cameras and have tried various ones (I have izon view, withings babycam, dropcam, withings home). This one stands about above the rest.Setup - this was very simple, download the app, plug in the camera, scan the qr code when prompted and it was up and running 5 minutes max and totally fool proof. Even my father in law could manage this! The quality itself is excellent in both 1080p and 720p, if you buy before the 3 edition August it also comes with a 60 day trial for the nest 10 day. This has caused some confusion and conflicting information in the reviews. This allows you to review all video feed (at full fps) for the last 10 days. If you access via a pc/laptop you can create MP4 video clips from it. The video has a very wide view angle and is only beaten by the withings home because the withings has de-warp. Otherwise this comes out on top.Our daughter is ill so we wanted something we can review footage and this fits the bill perfectly.Good points1. Great picture quality2. Wide angle of view3. Ties in to nest Eco system4. Saves all video footage to the cloud for later review (with subscription)5. No app crashes or cut outs (unlike all my other ip cameras)6. Night vision is greatNegative points1. Subscription model is more expensive than others but is far superior to my withings home or izon2. The two way audio is not great, there is some lag and it's more like a cb radio, talk, wait and listen3. The LEDs cannot be disabled on the front4. No local storage / nas storageIn summary this is the best ip camera I have tried, it depends on what you want to use it for, our use case is something that constantly records and we can go back and review old footage in 30fps 1080p. As a baby cam the withings baby cam is better as it runs in the background and Alerts work better but has no recording. The withings home is just riddled with bugs and clips are recorded at 1fps and the izon is limited to 25 clips per day!I would highly recommend this.
