Surround Air Multi Tech Spare HEPA Filter for XJ-3000 Series Air Purifier

I've used these units 24/7 for years. Yes, I should change the filter more often than I get around to it, but they work very well.I used to just vac the filter when it got dusty. I don't do that any more.Living on the west coast, I was concerned about radiation from Fuku. I used my new hand held radiation detector over the front of the filter recently & was shocked that it hovered around 200 (a very high reading). The normal high for that room would be about 30. I'd seen utubes of people checking their HEPA unit filters for radiation but didn't expect mine to read so high. This unit is in the master bedroom & I have rarely had my windows open often since Fuku. So I (carefully) replaced the filter, & the reading plummeted to under 30. That is priceless to me.When the room gets stale/smelly, I turn on the ozone for an hour or two & shut the door (making sure no pet is in the room)Then I open the door back up & turn the unit back on (mine has an auto turnoff after ozone's been on) & the room smells terrific.It works well for us & the sound is like white noise for me when we sleep.Another bonus: Most HEPA filter units need to be many feet away from walls or in the middle of the room to work properly.I have mine jammed up against the wall at the corner of our vanity sink, & it works just fine that way.Also, I taped a nickel on top of the light to block it. On other units, I just put some sticky notes over them to darken the light.BTW, I checked the unit with the radiation detector about a month after I changed the filter & it had already jumped to 100.Yes, I'll be changing the filter again very soon.UPDATE 6/13/14: Just checked my filter with my radiation detector (I hadn't changed it for a few months) It was a whopping 268! Needless to say, I immediately (& very carefully) changed the filter. Good I have these filter replacements on auto-ship, so I don't need to remember to get them any more.

I'm so glad these are still sold! It perfectly fits a 15-year-old HEPA filter, an earlier model from the one it is supposed to fit. I'm impressed with the build quality of the SurroundAir that we bought so long ago, and delighted that I can still use these new filter boxes in the old models. And they are decently priced too. Many thanks from our family that is not suffering from airborne ash this fire season in Los Angeles, at least not in the room where our SurroundAir is keeping things clean.(on the other hand, with all the wildfires this fall/winter, I might need to buy another replacement before summer smog season comes along...)

Great unit and the filter is the most important part. I have used other air filters before this one seems to be the best at catch any airborn particles. The 1 drawback is as with most air filters that you need a fan or open window for the air to move around the room. I use mine in my basement and there is not a lot of circulation so I have a fan that I run to move the air. I can say that this filter does the trick while being a basement the air down there seems to be cleaner than any other room in my home. I do have a window in the basement that I do open sometimes to get fresh air down there and the filter removes any particles that may come in.

I bought a Simplicity Clear Breeze hepa from the salvation army. It actually looks like one of the newer surround air except it isnt as elaborate. I looked on the internet for filters for it and found they were $50-60 other places. This one looked identical and the dimensions were close enough that I figured I give it a try! It worked and when you subscribe the filters are pretty cheap compared to whats out there. If you go to walmart or places that sell hepa like filters they are almost the same price. These filters are the real deal. Me and my daughter have BAD allergies and this thing allows me to completely stop using my Zyrtec or claritan!

Have used this filter for a while sitting on carpet, which has much more fiber and pollutants close to the machine. This filter still does and excellent job for my allergies. I love the Surround Air machines and currently own the one for this filter and the XJ-3800. Both fantastic machines although I was cleaning the metal grid on the 3800 and popped a few conductor wires it still operates fine. The allergen lights stay on now for some reason although no allergens around hmmm. Anyway this is a great product.

Work as it should. We have a Surround air Filter unit for years and replace these a couple of time a year. You can also remove it from the housing and vacuum the outer portion occasionally to extend the life of the filter as well. We have had a couple of Surround Air units and they still work like new, having only to replace (or clean) the filters and replace the UV light once. The Amazon price for filters is as reasonable as driving down to the local dealer a couple of cities away.

What do you do when your hepa filter needs to be replaced, you bite the bullet and pay through the nose for one of these replacements. Let me just say, this is an exact fit for your original filter. Its high quality, was delivered fast, and went in like a charm. Your not gonna throw your machine out when the filter is dirty, so you might as well buy this replacement filter

Love my uv filter machine that this fits into, like this filter being hepa rated for good breathing health,worth purchasing for your family. It cleans air in small to medium sized room. Like that I can buy replacement filter for this machine here too, whenever needed. Like the ionic feature on the air cleaner machine that this goes into.

Received quickly and in perfect condition, bought 2 for our air purifiers, and now we all breathe much easier and cleaner. Excellent product. Would buy from seller again, and again!
