The versatility of this item is incredible. The way it is designed and built you can make many configurations with it to handle almost any load that extends beyond the bed of your truck or suv. It is sturdy for what it is and it is very easy to use. It comes with ratchet tie downs and a red flag. Don't expect to haul 40 sheets of drywall or plywood. Be aware of the weight you are putting on it. It has limits just as your vehicle does but that being said you can haul up to 750 lbs using this unit which is 18 to 20 sheets of 4X8 X1/2" drywall.

This was a fantastic solution for my needs. I have a 1/2 bed pickup, and needed to move some long timbers for a timber framing project - timbers up to 16'. I love everything about this bed extender. As advertised, and reviewed, it is easy to assemble and disassemble - mere minutes. It comes apart for easy storage. It can be adjusted by both width and length. My bed is 7' long. At the max extension, the extender added another 5'. So my 14 - 16 footers hung over just a bit. I raised the bed extender cross bar up a bit higher then the bed level, so the weight/force was forward, and also strapped the wood together to help ensure no movement. I drove 700 miles without a single adjustment needed to the load. There is only one, minor, deficit: I could not see the top of the uprights in the rear view mirror, owing to my bed cover. It was very easy to cut some wood to fit inside the hollow uprights, secured through the slots, and capped off with red tape around the top of the post. I would highly, highly recommend this solid product.

Great product for hauling long items. I have 2017 Colorado with 6' bed, with tailgate down makes it 8', with this it extends out to 12'. So you could easily carry 14' even to 16' length boards. I haven't tried it in the upright position but can't see why it wouldn't work as well. Very heavy duty steel construction and disassembles for easy storage.

This is a great product. Like many other people, I own a 4 door pick up truck with a 5 & 1/2 foot bed. I do a lot of stuff around the house and sometimes it is difficult to safely haul large items, such a lumber in the bed of my truck. This item fixed that. It extends my bed out long enough to haul the big items. It is well made and breaks down easily for storage. All the pieces are painted and have reflective tape on them. You will need to purchase a hitch pin for this, which is easily attainable. Overall, a great product.

Prior to purchasing, I researched about 15 different models, most of which were rated to similar load capacities and priced under $100. Ultimately, I ended up going with the more expensive U-Load Extender because of all the positive customer reviews. (And the negative reviews for the cheaper models) This truly is a HEAVY DUTY piece of gear. Assembled and installed easily into my Class-4 receiver. I stress tested by jumping up and down on it and it's solid. (Needed to install a Stowaway hitch tightener to prevent wobble) Tried in several different width/length/height configurations, and it is easy to adjust. I'm not worried about having any type of malfunction or failure with this product.

Appears to be a very solid buit hefty product (65lbs). I put it together to ensure all parts were there and functional. I look forward to seeing how it performs. The only complaint I have and it isn't directed at the vendor is that because the item is so heavy the package got beat up pretty badly and items were exposed.

I use it as a roof rack extender to carry a canoe. It is sturdy and convenient. It makes traveling longer distances easier and faster. It can be assembled and dissembled quickly and simply. I use a hitch tightener to reduce rattle.

I tried a cheaper hitch rack previously and ended up throwing it away. This one is built to last! Very versatile, exactly what I was looking for to haul lumber, pipe, or even my canoe. I have a short bed pickup truck and this allows me to carry anything I wish.
