Gate Lock
Really like this simple gate lock. It looks nice too!

Not bad
It will do the job. I had to modify my gate a little bit, but it will do the job. You have to enter a code to enter and exit. Other say it doesn’t latch. That where my modifications came into play.

Lock opens without code
The media could not be loaded. This lock will open every time without typing in a code. View the video below. This is all stock and nothing has been modified. This is a giant security risk and MUST BE FIXED. Furthermore Amazon won’t let me post an honest review any more as they say what I have typed here violates their rights. Do they even know what the right to free speech is or what suppression of it means?

Works smoothly once installed but awkward to install and instructions not clear
This lock is relatively simple in concept. I bought it for the gate that goes to my patio, which is not it's ideal use, however with some hacks it can be made to work.Namely, you can see in the photos that the backside of both parts of the lock are exposed in the upper part due to the gate being a gate. I took a couple of brake pedal pads and wedged them in between and drilled a hole for the top bolt. Brake pedal pads are a tough, dense rubber-like material that will stand up to a lot of wear and tear and I just happened to have a couple (from my 74 Jeep), but I would advise finding a solid piece of similar material or fashion something using metal. This also served to allow me to tighten the bolts to make the lock firmly held in place.Note, below I refer to photos in a specific order. When I edited this review they appear in the order I mention but when I view the review as a shopper they are not in the order in the review form or the way I discuss. I hope you're able to understand which photo I am discussing by just looking through them. Some issues:1. for some reason, my handle only engages the latch by lifting it a quarter turn UP, rather than pushing down on the lever. Not sure why. I couldn't reverse the position of the handle and open the gate without the brick wall getting in the way so I will just live with it. Not that big a deal.2. As simple in concept the installation is, getting the bolts lined up wasn't so easy, even with good visibility. The gaskets that go behind the locks kept swinging down. It would be great if they had a light adhesive to avoid this annoyance.3. The backside where the tumblers are for the code buttons is exposed, which will take on water. That could be prevents by using a gasket that actually covers them and then after installation, using some silicone. So, exposure to weather may be a problem over time.4. Build quality is ok. Not great but ok. I have a similar lock for my front door made by LockeyUSA, which clearly shows the quality difference at every level From the gaskets to the tumblers for setting the codes to the manual.5. The manual isn't super clear when it comes to setting the codes. See the 4th image I posted. It says "Dot" outwards = password push-button (Fig 1b)"Dot" inwards = not password push-button (Fig 1a)And if you look at the figure next to it you'll notice it's low resolution so it wasn't helpful. I thought "Dot" meant the actual button tumbler and I thought inwards meant pushing it in and doing a half turn so it stayed in. See my 5th photo where you can see I attempted to set codes this way.Well, not only does that seem unstable and the button could slip back into it's original flush position but it also causes the buttons your press on the lock to not work, which seemed stupid because then someone could just press all the buttons until they found the ones that actually press in. It also caused the lock to work strangely. So, while I was thinking about what I was doing wrong I was looking over the instructions again and I grabbed the box to see if I left any other manuals or documents in it and I noticed on the back of the box another schematic - see my 6th photo. That graph shows "All codes on" and "All codes off" and now the button tumblers look like little fish with eyes and the light bulb went off. The fish "eyes" are the "dots"! They're not that noticeable on the back of the lock itself (again, see the 5th photo). Once I realized this, I was able to set the lock, all the buttons could be pressed but only the activated ones mattered, and the lock worked. All in all, I am generally satisfied with this solution to my gate. I needed a latch that locked because I have a dog aggressive dog who can open a gate that doesn't have a lock. So, I needed one I could lock and I didn't want to use a key since there's a lot of coming and going. A keyless entry lock is the best option. I expect that I will have to replace the whole lock in a few years due to exposure to the weather.

I wish they were a little wider to cover standard hardware cutouts.
I wish they were a little wider to cover standard hardware cutouts. But they are made for thicker doors/gates, so that's nice. Also, you need to remove both sides to re-set the combinations.

Can not leave unlocked.
The is great that you have to enter a code for both sides and that it can be a different code, but there is no way to leave it unlocked. So every time the door is closed, a code must been entered to open.

Too small
It's too small and not compatible to our gate.
