Component video is the high quality alternative to composite video and as good as Scart, though slightly less common. You might find it on older equipment. My TV has only one component input, as is the norm. But I have a DVD player and two games consoles with high quality component outputs. This switch box makes switching between the three a breeze. Everything is clearly marked and the action of the buttons is positive. Very pleased with my purchase.
