Nexlux WiFi LED Strip Lights, 150 LEDs Waterproof Smart Phone APP Controlled Light Strip Work with Alexa

I am a Phillips Hue fan and was looking really hard at the light strip. The price seemed a little high and I don’t see us changing the colors all that often..just for seasonal stuff. So we opted to try this first. Full disclosure, I did not try to pair it with WiFi. I felt the remote was just fine for our purpose.Package: it was nicely packaged and the LED’s were on a plastic spool. Made it a little easier for install.LED’s: nice and bright, colors seemed pretty good. Maybe not as mood setting as Phillips, but the basic colors were there.Instructions: the print was super tiny, so have some glasses. It says to line up the red arrow with whatever. I thought I did that and plugged it in, no lights. So I flipped it over and voila, lights. So whatever I was supposed to do I didn’t apparently, but it is easily corrected.Application: I was lining the top of some cabinets. So I had to cut in two places and use a connector. I cut at the indicated spot (which it seems there are plenty of as they came out almost perfect). The plastic cover/silicone is not to tough to get off. I just scored it about 1/2” back with a razor knife being careful not to damage the ribbon and peeled it off. The hardest part was the connectors (bought separately so nothing against the LEDs). One side of the led ribbon lays on top, but then the other side (I found out after I connected everything) has to go under the metal contacts. Once I figured that out, it was pretty simple.Anyway, attached is the end result, cut on either side of the raised cabinet and fed with an extension to the top of that cabinet. All in all I was out about $30 total. The same application in Phillips Hue was going to be about $360 with Black Friday deals. Not a bad deal.

Great led lighting with many different colors and programmable to different times or colors via the use of your cell phone/ wifi controlled. It does come with a remote control, but are limited to brightness, color and a few programs. To take full control of the programming, use the downloadable app for your phone.I found out the hard way, but there are a few accessories that you will no doubt need to complete the kit for 2 areas of the kitchen cabinet like in my photos. Accessories like the connectors must be the waterproof 10mm 5050 SMD type. Non-waterproof accessories just won't work.1. Basic electrical skills are needed. I utilized the power outlet above the vent and had an outlet in one of the cabinets installed during renovation. Although you can stick the leds directly under your cabinet, I chose the V shape corner mounted strips attached with double sided Velcro tape instead. After it was all said and done, I managed to get professional results for under $70.

I now have these LED light strip in my bedroom, living room, kitchen and porch. Will soon buy one for atop my hutch in my dining room. I can ask google/Alexa to make a specific room any color/brightness I want or, control colors and other great functions better with the app. With an assistant such as google these lights can be controlled from anywhere/away from home.

I bought another one after buying one. I love it! The seller was very helpful and was always in contact to make sure the lights were working properly. It took a few tries to link it with my home network but it worked like a champ once it did. Just need to have a little patience is all and follow directions. When the lights go from cycling colors to solid colors, the link is made despite the app saying it was unsuccessful. (Also, The problem was that i had downloaded the Magic Home Wifi app. You NEED to download the Magic Home Pro App for it to work. It still said connection un-successful but no matter) Just recycle the app and you are good to go. It made a world of difference and solved the issue. Both light strips are listed in the Magic Home Pro app (Devices section) on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (Android) once within range of controller. You can only control one strip at a time but both can manually adjusted to the same color. The app lets you customize colors (Sky is the limit!!!) and store it on the app so you can match (or mix) led strips as you please. This is a GREAT ALTERNATIVE to the costly Philips rgb wifi strips and I think does the job the same. I do not own a Philips strip but I have to say the Nexlux led strip exceeded my expectations and more. I have attached my lights under wooden cupboards in my kitchen and noticed the glue is not that adhesive and pealed off over time. However, I used some superglue (and light tape Temporarily) to hold in place and fixed the issue. I purchased these strips in October and have had no issues so far. Overall, I am very happy with this product and recommend it to anyone looking to accent rooms in their home at the same quality for half the price of its competitor.
