I bought this distributor for a 1965 Thunderbird with a 390, but couldn't get the engine to run smoothly. After a month or so, it refused to even start. After a lot of troubleshooting, I finally determined that the new condenser that came with the distributor had failed. I replaced it with an old one that I had lying around and it fired right up, though still ran very rough. An article online mentioned checking the vacuum advance, so I disconnected the vacuum line from it, and the engine immediately sped up and smoothed out. I have to think that the vacuum advance wasn't working properly, and who knows about the mechanical advance. I ended up replacing a part inside the original Ford distributor and put that back in the car. Runs great now.I also noticed that the cap that came with it doesn't fit well, as someone mentioned before - it can move a little, which obviously would affect the timing.This product is supposed to have a "One Year Hassle Free Guarantee", but there isn't any information on how to return it, so I guess I'm out of luck. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product.

Not sure what some of the reviewers were talking about, seemed well made and fit perfectly. Vacuum advance and mechanical advance along with firmest were flawless

Distributor worked great on 390 ford

Absolute total piece of junk...nothing fit right...Ford points will not fit it...nor would the vacuum advance piece fit the Ford distributor.........cap did not fit correctly...went back and forth...junk.....fit was way too tight...
