Orb Audio Mini 5.1 Plus - Hammered Earth

Once I finally got my receiver dialed in, these bad boys showed what they could do. I was amazed at the quality and level of sound that comes out of these small speakers! I only installed 5 speakers, one in each back corner of our living room and dining room and one in the stair well which are open to the kitchen. This is a big area to fill with sound (26ft x 30ft), and the 5 Orbs had no problem in doing so while maintaining great quality. I do recommend you get a sub with these, because they lack a little in the low end, but even just the sub mini is enough to fill that gap. All in all, these are great speakers and highly recommended to everyone!Update March 30th 2016I wanted to add a comment about the great customer service that Orb provides. Not only do they sell great looking and sounding speakers they have great folks working for them that provide top notch customer service. Just gave them a call about some speaker issues and they dealt with it in no time and no hassle. How can you go wrong, great product and service!!

I was excited to change out my bookshelf speakers in my study with something a bit more modern. These really fit the bill. They look nice and are compact. But, the sound is just OK. For the nearly $1,000 cost, I expected a whole lot clearer sound. The Infinity bookshelf speakers I replaced, that were nearly 20 years old, sounded better in every way. They just had a tired appearance. After mounting these and listening to them for a few weeks, I had decided to return them, but unfortunately, I had just past the return date on Amazon. They'll work, but I would not recommend them.

When making a listing saying "Home theatre system", one would generally assume it includes a receiver especially at the price point. I understand the speakers do a phenomenal job, but having to spend even more to put them to any use is simply annoying.While you're pricing our receivers, get speaker wire to go with the order. These "kits" won't come with any sort of speaker wire.Probably going to return these and get a proper full system for less than the cost of just speakers.

Wow. It still amazes me how good and “large” these tiny speakers sound. We have them hooked up to an old Onkio receiver and have never gone above the 30% volume. The subwoofer is set at 50% or else our windows rattle. If called for, I would buy again.

Great little speakers....when you turn them up they don't get louder they get clearer.

What I can sum up with Orbs Audio speaker is this is by far the best “satellite” speakers that’s available on the market that I experienced with. Before I write my experience in detail of how I feel about the speakers, I saw YouTube video about bashing Bose or any other “satellite” speakers by comparing sound quality with bookshelf or tower speakers. Well…It is not a fair comparison. There are features that “satellite” speakers can offer but big speakers cannot. Compact size and light weight are the two major factors. If you have a small room or you will like to mount speakers on the wall. Bookshelf or tower speakers will not do the job. If you are interested to this product, I’m assuming you are looking for satellite speakers and not just speakers in general. In the process of my searching, I had listened to Bower & Wilkin M1, Bose Acoustimass 10 , Energy take classic 5.1, GoldenEar Super Cinema etc. And then I discovered Orbs Audio. At high volume, Orbs Audio has lower distortion than any other “satellite” speakers that I had listened. It sounds more dynamic and rich than the competitors. And yes, I had an opportunity to test all of them with same receiver. Thus, I had decided to purchase the Orbs Audio home theater set with the mix of white and black color orbs speakers. I had also purchased a Sub-one subwoofer to go along with it. I use the speakers to setup my Dolby Atmos home theater system.The finishes and shapes of the metal orbs speakers look very sharp and pleasing. Especially when I hang them on the ceiling, it looks like two pieces of light fixture hanging on the top! I have the speakers set for couple months now and it sounds amazing so far. However, I will like the subwoofer to have little bit more punch when I’m watching action movies. But this is an issue to all other home theater package that is available on the market. You will want to upgrade the subwoofer if you have high demand on bass. Beside the quality of the unit, I’m very fortunate to get helps from the Orbs Audio founder, Gary. He is extremely friendly to talk with and very helpful when you need his assistance on setting up your home theater system. You will gain a lot of knowledge by talking with him. I will like to thank you Orbs Audio or Gary to help me accomplished this project!

Outstanding! Added a 65" 4K Sony TV to this system. No body wants to talk about the TV after watching a movie...all they want to rave about is how good the movie sounded! I've actually added additional Orb speakers to this system. I'm addicted to this company. Wow, and what great support when you contact the company to help you with the set up. I'm a fan, what else can I say!
