Works!!!
My WD Black NVMe drive was running at around 58C before installing this. Within normal operating temperature, but heat is a killer so I decided to give this heatsink a try. Pleasantly surprised, the drive temp is now 48C under load and runs around 32C idle.Installation was a breeze even with Gigbyte's tool-less nvme drive "screw" replacement (I hate those things). Fan noise is non-existent, but I just might not be able to hear it as there are 8 120mm fans running and 3 2U systems in the rack this sits on. It's in my basement so it's not an issue. One thing to note is in my application it was not a tight squeeze but if the heatsink itself were any longer I would not have been able to use it as it would have hit the pcie release tab.If you are looking for a way to cool an nvme drive in your system this might be what you are looking for.

A very well designed cooling solution for NVME M.2 drives
I had come across this cooler when I was comparing it and others with Sabrents passive NVME cooler and even though there was one reviewer here that said their fan did not work but the heat sink it’s self was still able to cool his drive by 10-15 degrees C I decided based on his review and others to purchase this and I am not disappointed. It was fun to install I highly recommend you peel the plastic off of the thermal pads with a fine tweezers as that was the easy way for me and apply the thermal pads like you would a band aid. The most tedious part of the installation was properly positioning the thermal pads but after you do it’s a breeze. I was able to create an optimized power curve for the WD Black 770 1 TB drive I installed it on in SIV which is the fan tuner that came with my gigabyte aurous elite motherboard and I got a 20 degree C drop in M.2 temperature on a 70 degree day. As I live outdoors i can get ambient temps of 15 degrees and this cooler can literally bring the temp of an M2 drive down to 44 degrees F which is what I set my thermal probe to read. For the practical design and the performance I got from this drive cooler it has earned five stars.

Fit my WD Black M.2 perfect
Great fit and plugs directly into motherboard fan plug. Can't say for sure if the fan works due to having 9 case fans but M.2 benchmarks very high and have had no issues with heat so my guess is good 👍🏻

doesn't fit my motherboard
it doesn't fit my asus x870-E motherboard.Edit: Seller was kind enough to reach out and issue a refund..

Very Quiet and Cool
My M.2. was 41C with my previous M.2 fan heatsink with 45% minimum at 40C to 75% fan curve and was very loud. With this my M.2. is at 37C with 35% minimum at 40C + 15% fan curves per 10 or 15C increase. It is also MUCH more quiet

Fan not working, but still good heatsink
After installing the product I seen the drop in temp that is advertised but seeing it go back to previous temp numbers I checked and seen the fan does not spin no matter what I did to influence it. I removed and tested the fan on other fan headers but nothing worked changed the powers that the fan received but nothing I think I saw it spin for a second then nothing.

Quiet
At full speed you cannot hear the fan noise over the case fan. And cooling a Rocket that barely even increases in temp let alone overheating like they are known for. Just make sure you have about a 1/4in of space after the mounting screw. The pipes stick out. Mine just barely fit.

Way below the expectations, limited fit
This is one more of the "German" companies made in China with products below German standard of quality and/or design. Just because you have a German address that does not mean it is a German product. The finish is good but what use is a nice finish and packing if the product design is flawed. The good:- very good finish and packing- large fan (relative)- 4 wires- 2 heat pipes- large mass to absorb the heat of short power burstsThe bad:- very expensive compared to competition- one sided install. You can only have the mounting screw on the heat pipes side. That might work with the airflow in your case or against it.- heatsink might be shorter than the M2 drive chips as the sink itself I shorter than its under tray (did not work well for Samsung 990 Pro).- very bad design of the under tray; interference with M2 mobo socket. Could not actually use or test against competition- It has large mass but too small surface for that mass to be able to quickly dissipate the stored heat.- The fan cable is a lot thicker and too rigid for the installed fan needs. Length is Okish, but if the fan header is far then there is no other choice than to have the cable cross the mobo instead of going nicely around for cable management (or use extensions).Overall, I don't think you should buy this heatsink. There are much better options and at a lower price point without sacrificing performance. If it fits your system, it is probably an Ok fan performance wise, but it lacks real engineering expected from a German product, and its weight to surface ration is not optimized. As other reviewer mentioned, my first order arrived w/o the fan. Second was Ok.Mine goes back anyway.
