An interesting and unique Sherlock Holmes crime mystery that has become a classic in literature today.
I have always loved detective and crime mysteries. In fact, westerns and detective stories are probably the most popular genre in literature today. This one (The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conon Doyle) has been one of the most read Sherlock Holmes stories ever written. This story begins with Sherlock Holmes and his partner Dr. Watson being hired to protect Sir Henry from the legendary curse of the Baskerville family. The death of several members of the Baskervilles came about because of a mystical hound like creature who goes for the throat to kill members of the family. This all takes place on the ghostly and spooky moors of Devonshire.I had seen the Sherlock Holmes movie on The Hound of the Baskervilles but the book goes into much greater detail than the movie. If you like Sherlock Holmes you will enjoy reading this tale. My only complaint is that is the writting was a little small in this text and the style of English writing by Arthur Conan Doyle takes a little getting used to; nevertheless, once you are into the story it all becomes clear through the expert eyes of Detective Sherlock Holmes. In conclusion, this is a very good mystery story that keeps you turning the pages.Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Predator Hunter: A warrior's memoir).

Typical Sherlock Holmes
Of course Arthur Conan Doyle wrote in a different era. These books were serialized in a magazine. They are very short and very predictable. We know about Sherlock Holmes but when this was first published, it was very fresh. This and other Doyle/Holmes stories are light and entertaining.

A great book! I was assigned this book as summer reading for my high school english class. At first, i thought the book would be hard to understand, but as i continued reading, I soon began to realize just how interesting the book became. If you like mystery, then this book is definitely worth reading.

Not for me
I think the book was well written and the story was good but I just found the language that was used overly complex.

Great Read.
Great ready by SACD. I guessed who did it right off, but they did a nice job of distracting the reader into different directions and throwing you off a little. A great read.
