The Bags are mass produced, The cans were discontinued, but brought back in limited production runs, so they cost more to produce and are much harder to find.

But this is waaayyyy over priced!!!! My wife and I just bought the same 33 ounce can at World Market (not on sale) for$7.99. Even other sites on Amazon alot cheaper.
