Poor quality for a big price tag
This Mantel is really pretty and I was excited to have it for Christmas. I found that it is probably 98% pressboard, not hardwood. Craftsmanship was very poor. I would really love to send it back, but luckily I have woodworking/construction knowledgeable children. Boy are they getting frustrated with this. So, pressboard is not sturdy and have had to work around the problems of cracking, separating and potentially disintegrating material.Big caution when considering this mantel. Have a LOT of time and a creative hand.
