Sophisticated and fun! Uniques items
Bought for my 4 year old grandson!!! Plays with it every day and makes salads for his mom. You can’t go wrong with Melissa and Doug! Excellent quality and sophisticated food items including little ropes that come out of dressing bottles imitating dressing pouring.

A great set from Melissa and Doug!
This is a great new set from Melissa and Doug. There is a great amount of stuff included with this(please see the list below). The different salads you can make is endless! I would highly recommend this set.Pros:I love the salad dressing bottles how the dressing drizzles out of the bottle with a string (this is much like the mustard and ketchup sets)The menu card is great as it gives my twin girls an idea of what to make. Therefore they can make a salad off the menu or they can come up with their own recipeThe fork has velcro on it so you can "stab" the lettuce to take a biteThe knife and cutting board provides great fun and my girls like to chop their veggies much like Mommy does in the kitchenThe wooden tongs are a great addition so they can mix the saladThe quality of the pieces is superb! Everything seems like it will hold up over time with the exception of the crouton box. This set provides great imaginary play as my girls can pretend to make salads like Mommy does pretty much every night.Cons:I wish it came with two bowls and two forks. I have two kids so it would be nice if they were both able to have a salad at the same time especially since there is enough pieces to make two salads at once.I wish it came in a wooden storage crate like many Melissa and Doug products have in the past.I wish the container of croutons was made of something a little stronger than cardboard. The cardboard boxes never seem to hold up over time. What's Included:One yellow salad bowlOne fork with velcroTwo salad dressing bottles (creamy ranch and Italian vinaigretteCutting board and knifeTwo wooden serving spoonsPlastic menu card that includes ingredient list and different salad recipesPlastic package of organic lettuce with five felt lettuce piecesPlastic package of organic spinach with six pieces of felt spinachPlastic package of organic kale with five felt kale piecesCardboard box of croutons with 3 wooden croutonsCardboard can of olives with plastic lid and a cluster of four felt olivesTwo wooden slices of mushroom (you can velcro these together and slice)Three wooden slices of tomatoes (you can velcro these together and slice)Three wooden slices of green bell peppers (you can velcro these together and slice)Two wooden slices of chicken (you can velcro these together and slice)Three wooden carrot slices (you can velcro these together and slice)Three wooden cucumber slices (you can velcro these together and slice)Two wooden shrimps

Be prepared to pretend eat a lot of salads!
Very good quality and easy for small hands to play with. My 5 yr. old granddaughter loves this set! She has loads of fun cutting up the veggies, on the little cutting board. And there's a recipe card that is pictures to show different ingredients to make different salads. And the dressings have a string that pops out like it's really pouring dressing (my granddaughter loves that). The first day with this and I pretend ate 15 salads!I just ordered the Melissa and Dough rotisserie and grill wooden barbecue play food set, as my granddaughter saw it being played with on a YouTube show that she enjoys (that plays with all different foods). And it does look pretty cool. I'm positive it will be a huge hit. I'll be pretend eating rotisserie chicken and salads next.

Helps them eat REAL salads!!!!
I looooovvvveee this toy set just as much as she does. I love to watch her pick up the spinach and fake eat it! It’s helped with her eating REAL salads! It keeps her busy for 30 min at a time. I will be purchasing other sets.

adorable
My grandson LOVES this. He is 22 months and loves making us salads. He also has gotten very good at "cutting" the wooden veggies on the cutting board; veggies and croutons are all wood and the salad is fabric. Pretend salad dressings are plastic and have a string that comes out and makes sound when you shake it. Super cute and educational. We keep the entire set in a shoebox and he goes to it whenever he is over.

Toddler Loves This Toy!
My toddler is at the stage where she loves to play pretend, especially pretend restaurant. This salad set has kept her entertained for hours with the various salad combinations that she can pretend order and create. I love the details on this set. The way the different greens are packaged is adorable, and the salad dressings that “squeeze out” is a plus too.
