Essential Saltwater Flies Review: Excellent Intro to East Coast Saltwater Fly Tying - There's a lot to like about Ed Jaworowski's Essential Saltwater Flies. Chapters 1, 2, and 3 provide brief but excellent overviews of theory, materials and techniques--stuff you'll need to understand (and get your hands on) if you're new to this. After that, he gives the reader step-by-step instructions--accompanied by exceptionally clear photos--of 37 flies that will cover a wide variety of saltwater species. Some anglers might find it a weakness that the book specifically discusses only east coast species, but these patterns are proven on either side of the continent and around the world. Lots of tips, suggestions and photos, too, to help tiers modify many of these flies, and Jaworowski even includes tips on how to fish these patterns. Review: Excellent How-To Book - I have been tying flies for about 40 something years. I tied everything But Saltwater flies. Recently had a friend retire to Bonita Springs, Fla.who bought a boat and fishes everyday of the year. He invited me to go down there last year and now I am hooked on Saltwater fishing. I bought this book to learn how to tie various patterns.I also bought several other books on the subject. This is the Best How-To book out there. It even covers weed guards. Once you learn the basic types in this book, you can let your imagination take over. I was really impressed with the detail of the step by step instructions. I have taught fly tying for several years, and I feel qualified to judge good basic instructional techniques. This book has it!!!!!Kudos to the authors!! Joel Stansbury

My First Kindle Based Fly Book
The book itself is a five star - my reason for knocking one off is the way the pages break when looking at them in landscape mode on the Kindle. The pictures appear on the page after the explanation. You have to read the recipe all the way through before you start and then be prepared to flip back and forth if you're not sure what the step is or how it's done. The recipes are complete, the explanations are thorough and the book has a guide for fishing each type of fly. This book is good for a newbie as well as an established tier. Enough detail and explanations for the beginner but plenty of advanced recipes for an experienced tier I highly recommend this one, I've been tying for 15 years and still got some tricks and some new flies out of this one

Must have for fly tiers
Very informative book. It covers most, if not all, known fly patterns for saltwater fly fishing. I believe it is a must have for all fly tiers.

Great way to get started on Saltwater Flies
We are planning a trip to Central America to do some bone fishing and I needed a guide to tie the appropriate flies. This book has proven very good with excellent tips and photos for most of the flies I needed to learn.

Great Teacher
Just started tying flies a few weeks ago. Using this book, within a few days, I was tying flies that looked like I had been tying for years. Instructions and illustrations are easy to follow. Now can't wait for warmer weather to start trying them out on fish.

Tying the sea
Information and pictures, patterns, etc. Should possess expertise seems to be more. New tying materials and tying techniques are required.
