Great Laptop. Best Price vs. Performance out there.
First off I've only had the PC for a couple days. Will update review in the future with any other notes. I got this PC since I'm always traveling and I can't take my gaming desktop with me everywhere. I was looking something for around $500-700 that wasn't going to be cheap and would perform some of the games I play with graphics around the high setting and not break my back carrying it around... and at 5.3 lbs it's surprisingly light. There's plenty of other laptops out there from Dell, Asus, and Lenovo that making gaming PCs but you will probably have to pay a little more.PROS:- Laptop is super fast with this M.2 SSD. An SSD is a must in this era of PC Technology and this is my first laptop with an SSD. It does load times in a fraction of the time as an HDD and with 256gb, there is still plenty left for installing any other software/games you may need.- 8gb of RAM is plenty for moderate gaming & multitasking.- GTX 1050 graphics card for gaming. Dedicated GPU. This is important to have for gaming as you don't want on-board graphics as opposed to a dedicated GPU.- 1920 x 1080 full HD screen. For me this is a must when gaming. Having a smaller resolution just doesn't work for me.- Doesn't heat up nearly as badly as I thought it might...It's actually quite cool...and with the fan boost button this makes cooling it down quick and easy.CONS:- This model did not come with an installed HDD for storage like the 1TB model did. These are cheap and easy to pick up anywhere. Installing one of these would be simple since it goes over the currently installed SSD.- 16gb of RAM would have been better, but @ this price point 8gb was good enough. For heavy multitasking 16gb or more would be better, however with being able to install more RAM this isn't a big deal. I have not taken the PC apart yet so I'm not sure if it's 1x8gb or if it's 2x4gb.- GPU only came with 2gb of onboard memory. 4gb would have been nice on this but it's not a deal breaker.- Laptop charger cord is short. I feel like with a laptop the power charging cord should be decently long. I have to be pretty close to an outlet in order for me to plug this in. Luckily there are 6ft extension cords to solve the issue. It would have been nice to not need it however.- Laptop battery only last a couple hours. This is due to the i5-7300HQ & GTX 1050 GPU what a standard laptop would have, possibly on-board graphics & an i5-7200 or something similar. This was expected with a gaming laptop and I wasn't planning on needing to use it without power for long durations. I just wish the battery was removable...sometimes I like to travel w/o a battery so that I can plug it in.- Thing is a magnetic for fingerprints with the matte finish. Be ready to clean it constantly...or just not care about it.Notes- Even with all the CONS listed I'm still giving this thing 5 stars. (Will update here in a couple months).- So this laptop comes with an i5-7300HQ vs the i7-7700HQ. It's not quite as good as the i7 but with a GTX 1050 vs a GTX 1050ti it doesn't pay to have an overkill CPU if the rest of the hardware limits the performance of the overall laptop.- This laptop was not designed to be hooked up to a 4K screen and get the same results. You would need at least a GTX 1060 to get those high FPS rates.- Comes with a 1.25 year warranty if you resister the product on MSI's website. (They give an additional 3 months for doing this). Just make sure to grab the CHK # off the bottom of the laptop, as it's not printed on the box.-Keyboard works quite well. The trackpad isn't very good in my opinion but I always use a wireless mouse so I didn't write this down as a CON.

Good pc for price, very quick
I settled on this laptop after browsing a lot of different options for a new gaming pc. This is by no means the best gaming pc you can get, but for the price it is available for it is pretty damn good. It is very quick even before trying to optimize by removing unnecessary programs. It does not have a lightup keyboad which I know many people rave over, but I do not find that necessary. This laptop can run triple A titles on decent settings; although, some games may require lower settings. Xcom 2 for example, runs easily on medium graphics and only ever crashed after applying many mods to obviously no fault of the computer. The build of the laptop feels a bit cheap because it is made of plastic, but so far I have had no problem with it. I still make sure to be careful with my device just in case. SSD is rather small, but better than a hdd. Graphics card is quality. Ram is fast and I think expandable to 16gb, but dont quote me. Battery life seems kind of disappointing, but I mostly use this pc for gaming which is demanding so it may last longer on less demanding tasks. Screen is nice. Audio speakers are in the back which is annoying. The fan is loud on higher settings, but it keeps the system cool. Dragon center lets you optimize the performance of your pc for whatever task you are doing which peaked my interest, so I played around with it and determined it's rather useful. Touchpad is responsive, but why wouldnt you use a mouse for gaming anyway. Overall I am very satisfied with this pc so much so that It compelled me to write this review. Would recommend as a college student cause its cheap, fast, works for schoolwork, can run demanding programs, and obviously can run games.

Powerful Windows 10 Laptop
This is my first laptop purchase ever and my first Windows 10 computer. I wanted to experience Windows 10, have an Ethernet port as internet is faster that way, have USB 3.0 for an external hard drive (many refurbished laptops do not have this), 8GBs of RAM, and can be taken places. I use it for gaming, browsing the web, typing up documents, using social media, and recording game play. I like that the left and right clicks are buttons making it much easier to use 2 to 4 fingers for clicking unlike having it all touch pad. It is quiet and cool, I think the solid state drive really helps in that regard. It takes less than a minute to boot up most of the time. I have had it about 3 months now. I have used OBS to record Famerama and another game successfully. If you may have buyer's remorse I don't think Amazon's Return Policy accommodates that. I would recommend changing the power settings so hitting the power button actually turns it off and not sleep. It was working on Windows update and it froze needing a shutdown. The 256GB solid state drive has 133GB of space as a boot able partition for Windows. Of the rest 83.42 GB is for Data, 20.75GB for BIOS_RVY, 900MB for WinRE tools, and 300MB for EFI System Partition. I don't know what all that is for so I have left it alone. If you have a Microsoft account such as a Hotmail email that will help with first time setup as it has for me. I wish the power settings allowed closing the lid to only lock it. Back in high school, in the Windows XP, days I would see a teacher lock the computer every time they got up. The simple tools in Windows 10 are great like basic trimming of a video, taking a picture from a video, clicking the lower right hand side to show the desktop, and pinning frequently used programs to the taskbar. Before this laptop I was using mostly Windows 7. I was able to perform a backup through Windows backup. I would like to hook up the laptop to a bigger screen someday via HDMI or mini display port. I bought a sleeve and a case for it making it ready for travel.
